My fellow smugglers,

Another year is at our doorstep and the old fades away. With the new year brings the promise of change. A combat upgrade to revitalise a slowly dying PvP system. Those of us who have been selected by you, the smuggler community are eagerly waiting to get into the meat and potatos of the new system. While we can't tell you what is going on due to the NDA. When they give us the green light, trust us, we will be MORE than happy to give you the green light on whatever we can.

Hopefully, if things go according to schedule we might see work on our revamp once the CURB comes to a close. While many of you may be cynical about this, this is not the time to express it. There was once a time when the smuggler forum was a light and flame free. Sadly, this is not the case as when it was announced that a red name was one of us. Things were said that I thought we were above, things I expect to see on forums like the GAT, jedi and server forums.

The smuggler community needs to lookto it's past in order to fully realise the future. The more soothsaying we do the more embitterd we will become. While I do not suggest that we could ever return to how we once were, I do suggest that we need to let go of much of our anger. We must channel our emotions into ideas and productive discussion. This is something that I, as many of you know, need to work on myself!

However dispite the flames of these forums and the bugs in the game I find myself still loving the game and excited about it's future. It may not be the game I thought I was buying so many months ago but it is getting there. The year end is a time for change, a time for renewal. It is now that we must decide: Do we fight as we once did, or flail as we all to often do?

Happy holidays my friends. May the warmth of this season find you (and for those in the snow encrusted midwest may a heater find you) and find you well. (And let's hope that my parent's house discovers something more than a 56k modem )

Happy Holiday Fish.

Though I disagree with your sentiments as they only seem like more wishful thinking with absolutely no track record to back them up.

We've been the route of putting our disgust behind us and generating new ideas multiple times in the past. Each and every time we've been kicked in the teeth. There is nothing that has been said or done to indicate we're going to get there anytime in the next year.

Throughout this long wait the only thing we've ever gotten are little kicks in the ribs to remind us just who we are.

I'm happy that some of you have been selected to, at some unspecified time in the future, work towards testing ideas for a smuggler revamp. I'm happy you fully believe it will actually happen...I don't.

To think though that, on your words, we should all put smiles on our faces and our noses to the grindstonesbecause one day you and others will be free to tell us wonderful secrets that, as yet, you don't have to tell is simply a bit too much like religion for my taste. Sorry, your preaching falls on deaf ears here...though I don't hold you personally responsible for it, just a bit too gullible.

I love this time of year. People start calling me Saint Nick cause I tend to spend wayyyy too much money on my Christmas gifts.

If you're getting something from me, generally, it's something really cool

I weould not say gulible, just trying very hard to put a positive tone in my gameplay for the new year. As anyone on Sunrunner that plays with me or the guys and gals that are on Ventrillo with me almost everyday I am a bitter, bitter smuggler. I have, however, begun to notice a large negitive effect this has had on my gameplay. The more I gnaw and fester on the issue the less I want to play. Therefore, I try not to gnaw on it.

The past few months have been something of a SWG paradigm shift for me as I have been exploring diffrent professions on my alts. Playing a master rifle/master doc has brought me PvP excitement that I have not felt in almost a year. Playing a BH on my other alt has opend up the content of the hunt to me. On my main toon, Joras, I've been really getting into the tanking side of TK. It really like holding off huge MOBs while my companions take no damage By exploring the other routes that SWG offers it has brought a new love for the game. I'm not saying to not think about smuggler, I'm just saying not think about it as much. It's not a naive point of view, just one of self preservation.
