After having a long affair with the smuggler proff on all the toons ive had im back to it once again thanks to the handy respec i moved it from my low lvl low rank fish to my human col and made the fish a ws, anyways im here for advice what armour should i wear? have to look good for the public u see and now im not tkm with smuggler anymore i now need some armour, my templates M Smuggler Mpistols Bh xx4x which only leaves me with recon really but i got no idea what armour comes under that i did try asking a few AS's but all they seem to be worried with is faction armour which is fair enough i might end up with a suit of that also any thoughts on the template id liek to stay ranged and pistols dont seem to bad i did think a lil of commando but dunno anyways thanks for ya time

Pistoleer/Smuggler gives you recon, Bounty Hunter gives you Battle. So if your xx3x (or whatever it was) BH you can still wear battle armour, it will just give you a slight decrease in your movement speed.
Personaly I don't wear armour at all. With concussion shot the way it currently is the only things that ever hit me are ranged shots ... so I wear a PSG that soak up enough of that (and with my ranged defense) so that it barely scratches me. I have not noticed recon OR battle armour making any difference to me in combat

You don't need armor, no, but the right combination make you look good.
