Thread: Slices not random?

So i was doing my regular routine last, travelling from place to place (as to avoid the Empire), casually mentionning my availability to 'enhance' some weapons, when some bloke comes over to me and tells me slicing is no longer random.

He started to tell me how he's a weapon smith and he made a crate of firearms and got his local "weapon enhancer" to work his magic on the crated weapons.

"They all had the same stats" he said " and the slices all were identical."

Can this be confirmed? If this is the case, then we aught to get on a formula or at least a way of accurately prediciting the slice to better serve our customers. I am thinking about making a run down to my local weapon smith and buy a crate or two of weapons and recording the stats before and after modification.

I would have done this last night, but debts are debts, and the last I heard the infamous Han Solo was being hunted by that creepy Boba Fett character. Or was it Bossk? Not sure, havent checked the HoloNet in a while, either way it spells trouble.

So, can anyone confirm that identical weapons will give identical slices?

Cheers all.

Hhmm - I had identical slices of 15% on a set of wookiee armor a couple of days ago - didn't slice a lot lately since the low percentages frustrate the heck out of me...

Well, being an armor smith, I also sliced my armor and got the exact same 16% Effectiveness increase on every piece.

So maybe this is the case. If only we knew exactly what the max stats were for armor and weapons then we could figure out what the slice would be.

Heres the caps for weapons. Sorry, can't find one on armor.

I keep getting 6% speed slices on just about every weapon i slice. I think 1 out of 10 times i got a 6% damage range slice. As for armor, the same as everyone else seems to get.

- I support NO DECAY.It should be run like EQ . No 20k price cap on the bazar and everyone can craft. Its has worked for 7 years on everquest and there is no decay plenty of money and no crazy prices.

Decay is only good for crafteres and bad for everyone else.

Oh he was not friend of mine... and all the armor I create keeps slicing the same 16% effectiveness... but weapons with identical serial numbers and stats, slice the same too.

I even went so far as to start buying CDEF pistols off the bazaar that had the same serial numbers to slice them out of 5/5 had the same slice applied.

I tried that with 2 groups of 5.

I'll post the rest of my data when I get home.

Slicing is now inversely proportional to the "quality" of the products. It's not exactly random any more. The nearer to the cap stats a WS or AS makes their weapons or armor the lower the slice you will get.

Also Armor will always have an effective slice now. With an increase in hinderace abovea master'smitigate stats by about 1-2%. So, wearing a full suit of sliced amor you will have a minimum of 7% hinderance to your rate of fire, accuracy, and movement. Max is about 14%. So, think twice before you slice armor.

I have sliced 3 complete sets of Clone Armor and every piece has resulted in a 8% effectiveness slice.
