Ok, last night someone made me an alr with 4x 183, -.39 tissues. The base Stats came out like this:
ALR
As: 2.54
Dmg: 483-1173
AB: 17
Wound: 14.95%
DPS: 325.62
SAC: 89
Dmg: 483-1173

SAC: 89
Nowsomeone suggested to put a 5% critical, 2% damge, 2% speed slice on this weapon. The only problem i am concerned with is with the damage cap for a alr being 1184, a 2% dmg would put it at 1196.46. The thing i am concerned with is dex're was telling me he sliced a hc scatter with a lvl 4 dmg slice and went over the cap and lost the entire slice b/c the dmg went over the cap for a scatter. Will i lose this slice if i do a 2% dmg and it goes over the cap for the gun?

do a a level 4 speed slice. the weapon will come out at 370.44 dps

Slicing for damage aroundits cap is very buggy right now.
Usually it will tell you "Sorry, that weapon is over its power limit and cannot be pushed any further" and the slice will not be applied, and it won't cost you parts.
Sometimes, however, you won't get the message, it will consume the parts, but you won't see the max daamge incrase (though the min damage likely still will).
Also keep in mind that the "slicing" max damage cap on weapons appears to be lower than the "crafting" max damage cap. And it varies from weapon to weapon.

You're not all that far from the damage cap, I would recomend going with the level 4 speed slice as well.

i also found out that the crafted speed cap is 2.17 and this would pt me at 2.23, is there a different cap for sliced speed

I'd throw caution to the wind and go for the level 4 damage slice! Then that puppy would rock the house!
