The entire team cares very much about you the customers and the game. The game is constantly evolving and we need to focus our energy on bug fixes and making the game more fun for a wider audience. That includes the present audience in that. We want to have more players for you to play with and I am sure you want that also. With this comes reducing the scope of our publishes so that we can make sure that publishes are cleaner. This doesn't mean that there won't be changes to professions or other content, it just means that bigger things are pushed out and given the time to be worked on that they deserve.

Of course, isn't that what the description in the Master Box says? I though that was what we got for Master.

in other words:
we at SOE realize that MMORPG is a huge market as indicated by WOW's 2 million subscriber base. with only a subscriber base of 250k people, we feel that SWG can and needs to gain market share. So with the game being out for 2 years and the fact that the remaining veteran subscribers are star wars nerds that have endured this time who for the most part, are not going anywhere, we feel the need to focus on more subscribers. since we are a poorly run company with limited resources, we need to focus on attracting new subscribers at the expense of the veterans who have stuck with us through thick and thin.

back to the topic on hand. i mean what are the devs thinking? they must have thought that we can continue to create interdependencies across professions by having BHs loot smuggler items which can be given to them for use in slicing.
my counterarguement to that is a smuggler slicing weapons for all combatants creates the interdependency and the need for a smuggler. creating this relationship of smuggler items dropping from BH missions is a redundancy in its intent and makes interdependency less. if smuggler items are considered rare and thus expensive with the slicing process only marginally increases a weapons effectiveness, there is less incentive for smugglers to invest in such things.
