Thread: smuggling tool effectiveness?
Effectiveness of your laser knives doesn't come into play. The trick, even at Novice Smuggler, is to buy a bunch of Molecular Clamps from other smugglers and use those.
They're an added expense, but allow you to have 100% success for each slice.
If you're not clear on how to use the clamps, check the sticky posts on the top of this forum, there's a link in one of them that shows all this in clear details.
Enjoy!

??? player ideas, and what we want unfortunatly are no guarentee that they will be implmented by the developers... all im saying is random specualtion and saying that suddenly slicing will be based on tool quality, before any concrete revamp plan has been released by the developers, only causes more harm than good.... unless of course he has magically forseen the future....
see people read these forums smugglers and not... they reada line from a player saying that this will be different in the smuggler revamp.... they take it for gospel.... then people get their hopes up and let down when this is not what pans out.... its kinda liek a smuggler right now standing on theed spamming "slicing all weapons and armor using only the highest quality tools!!"... then having the next person that sends u a tell ask you for slicing and wanting to see your 99% wuks and auks or whatever .... and you have to explain to them that quality at the moment doesnt matter etc etc... and its all random....
i know many smugglers who flat out tell their people they are using the best quality tools and such, atm and that they get better results because of this... i also cant count ontwo hands how many times ive had to explain to customers that this (in thegames current state) is totally untrue and that the10k (or whatever)slice your paying forunder the guise of it being potentionally a better slice is complete , bs...
now dont get me wrong its good to give ideas to the devs and such and tell them what we want... but until its written in stone, and you hear it from the horses mouth ... people should refrain by putting certaintys of the future... when they themselves dont know what the future will bring

Hehe - I agree with you, Shinson, 100%. I hate being caught up in false rumors, and make it a point to *always* check things I'm unsure of - such as finding the dev post that confirms the claimed feature or whatever.
I have some of the best materials that have spawned on my server for a long time, and can make 99.9999% effectiveness tools. It would be easy for me to hawk them on the basis of them offering better slicing results. But that would be wrong, and I'm playing this game for fun, not to amass riches and rip fellow players off.
So, until it's confirmed by a Dev, no, quality of smuggling tools doesn't matter.
Sometimes...just sometimes...rumors cascade into fact if they get enough momentum. So the answer to your question is no.....for now.
And even though we know that quality of the tools make no difference, for some reason i can't put my finger on, customers are soooo relieved to find out you have the HQ goods even after explaining that it makes no difference....human nature? Go figure.
