Yesterday i managed to grind my way to master smuggler. 1 day before CU hehe
First thing i did was buy my way up the rankings of my Imperial faction to Colonel. I believethe rank of Colonel would make things cheaper. My character is a human female.
I was looking forward to getting into supplying imperial goods and faction points. After looking into what it would cost me to buy a full set of stromtrooper armour i was quite surprised. 2.25 million. Buying faction at 100k for 1250 FP
Most pieces cost 2250 FP
The current planet i was looking to purcahse on was Naboo where Rebels are winning the GCW 331 to 283. Does this effect my purchase price being that we Imperials arelosing on that planet?? Everything seems alot more exspensive than i was hoping for.
Also why can i only buy faction at 100k at a time?
Any advice or purchasing macro would be greatly appreciated. Im really looking forward to getting into this profession.

Thats very odd, When I bought my Marine armour it only cost about 500k in FP, overall the suit cost something like 7k FP or close too I cant really remember.
I beleive the Rebels where winning on that planet also. Might want to head to a planet where Imps are winning to see.

Grats on the master! Go read the faction faq. Has some good information, including a macro. In short, your rank will kick in when you delegate faction to another player. At colonel, for every 100 fps you delegate, you will lose 117 fps. Lower ranks lose more.
Annoyingly, whether your side is winning determines how many fps your armor (or whatever) will cost. Check how your side is doing on a planet by chatting with a recruiter.
And now you may tell those customers of yours that yes, it's that expensive because you have to bribe the officials.

Wait a few days and we will have player made faction armor, sadly smuggler was taken out the the equation for anything but selling the FP needed. A Master Armorsmith buys limited use schematics (only MAS can buy and they go directly into datapad and can't be traded) and make the armor, the customer then pay more FP to "Bio-Link" armor to him making it so none else can use ut.

YEAH!
That is a good idea. I'm dying to get my hands on some Rebel Assault but when I looked at the price of marine armor I thought- THIS IS CRAZY!!!
No wonder all those guys are working for the Empire- they gotta work off that armor debt. And god forbid they get damage a piece in battle. Yeeesh!

overally factiona rmor prices are dropping a little after CU. What with 10 use schematics for a full suit purchased at about 8k faction on a 'friendly' plannet. Unless the AS in question is a non human imperial and then they get hosed to the tune of about 40k faction.
I expect though that there's likely to be a brisk buisiness for smugglers in selling FP to AS now though. As only AS will be able to buy the schematics, and unless the AS is also a smuggler on their AS toon. They wont be able to get any FP cost reductions etc. And there are not that many of us who are smugglers on the same toon. (I've got a smuggler. But its not my AS. So no nifty discount for me.)

I BELIEVE, and don't hold me to this, that not only is it cheaper when your side is winning, but also is cheaper still if the opposing side is losing Badly.
the formula has been figured out as 1+2(Losingsidescore/ Winningsidescore) * base price.
if the winners have a score of 100 , the losers a score of 99, and the base price of the item in question is 1000, the item should cost 2980 fp
if the winners have a score of 100 , the losers a score of 10, and the base price of the item in question is 1000, the item should cost1200 fp
Hope that clears it up as I barely understand it myself

A full suit of rebel armor cost me around 7k faction I think pre-cu, probably less. Of course I did buy that on a planet where we're winning 300-8...

I assume the schematic is non-tradable? I'd hate to need to try and add MAS to my alt human imp MSmuggler... I dont even think I can with him also set up as my Master Merchant...
