hehe Voverwhelming shot...
yeah we don't have any true Damage attacks
. all of those are in the specific weapon profs (Pistoleer, Carbineer, ect.)
so if our only two attacks that do any damage (Last Ditch, and Reckless shot) are both ones that ultimately kill ourselves, then we're like a 1 in damage.

Smuggler
Primary Role: Crowd Control Specialist
Secondary Role: Medium Range Damage Dealer
Offense: Moderate (3)
Defense: Minimal (1)
Crowd Control: Very Strong (5)
All's fair in love and war is the motto most Smugglers live by. Smugglers use what is generally perceived as dirty fighting to keep their targets off balance while they defeat them. Smugglers have very low defensive ability and only moderate offensive ability, but when combined with their unique fighting style they can comfortably hold their own.
Smugglers are the dominant Crowd Control profession. Smugglers will be receiving a whole new line of abilities that allow them to temporarily remove an enemy combat threat so that it can be dealt with at a later time. Smugglers abilities combine well with many other profession abilities and will be vital in dealing with high end group content.
We all discussed that Smugglers may not be 5 when it comes to Crowd Control but more imporatnly I don't beleive we are even close to a 3 when it comes to Offence considering a BH is 4.
Last Ditch is our most damaging shot but we die if we use it,
Reckless shot doesnt work as intended since its meant to be used at a last resort but when i tested it its the only shot that hits the high numbers.
Restrainging shot is a snare with low damage.
Concussion shot is a root with no damage.
Voverwhleming shot didnt work when I tested it but I assume it again has low damage as it is meant to inflict "some" kind of state effect but I really doubt this works.
Low blow = a very painful attack that isnt damaging? well if it is painful why isnt it damaging? Also doesnt work.
Panic shot also had no noticable effect and is extremly low hitting.
Is there a damage dealing shot in the Smuggler proffesion tree that I missed?
If not how the hell are we a 3 in Offence?

Easy, we poke their eyes out with our laser cutting knives!

From the looks of things, Pixie may be the new Muon... Just like orange was the new black.

What about the specials from the pistols line in marksman? How are those. I am a master smuggler, butI have a dabbler build, so the only pistol/ranged specials I have are the ones you get from smuggler. Am I gimped beyond repair?

Well, with my studly FWG5 (297-816 anyway, I actually have no idea if that's studly at all
), my specials do the following damage against my helpful kreetle test subjects:
Advanced Reckless Shot (master smuggler): 1065 damage
Quickdraw (pistols IV): 666 damage
Placed Shot (pistols III): 732 damage
Aimed Shot (pistols II): 799 damage
None of this is taking refire rates into account, that's just the pure damage in my combat screen.
By the way, blasting chubas with the Berserker rifle is indescribably funny now that it sounds like a repeating shotgun.

yeah basically what tomo said is true.
you can probably get by with placed shot and stuff, but it'll be tuff using reckless shot as your only high damage attack (when you use it, it puts a -50 defense modifier on YOU!)
