Not that this is the worst issue but it's very close to it. I was slicing a hc scatter that was at 60% customization already, no big deal right? WRONG After I applies a speed slice it nuked the weapon, it didn't destroy it but it definetly ruined it imho. It had a 333 base dps but after that slice it now has a whopping 251 base dps. Yes I put in a ticket to our wonderful customer service an their lackluster response? We are aware of this issue and are looking into it but have no ETA as to it's fix, imagine that. Just thought I would let u fellow hooligans know to be aware of this, I hope it was just a 1 time goof but apparently not, if this has happened to anyone else please let it be heard so others may know, thanks.

There was a smuggler who complained about a massive decrease in DPS on his gun a little while ago...

Probably was me.
I haven't done thorough testing but I can almost bet that the weapon was sliced with a powerup to start off with.
It no longer asks to remove powerups... so I tested to see if I could slice two identicle guns, one with a powerup one without. It worked... later down the line I sliced the gun with a powerup again and it drastically nuked the DPS.
What I figure... is that since I had removed the powerup to do the other slice later down the road, it went and configured the "memory" damage / speed of the weapon and worked from that- realizing that something was messed up, it "fixed" it.
I'm not sure if this is the case, but it is the only logical reason I can think of saying that I've probably sliced about 50 items so far and it was the only one to do that.

I thought DPS didn't matter and the stat to realy pay attention to is min and max damage.

DPS doesn't matter but it is mathematically calculated using your speed and damage. Regardless the DPS should not decrease when you slice a weapon, it should only increase.
