Thread: Where to loot illegal core boosters?
That's in the new FAQ somewhere... but anyway, they drop in space, off Black Sun tier 4 ships. To get a Black Sun duty mission (should work for all pilot factions), go to Theed palace, into the room opposite from the librarian (i.e. the first on your right as you come into the main hall), and talk to the RSF pilot trainer you see there (Dinless Imler, I think). She offers you a number of missions, among them for the Black Sun in the Endor system. You might have to be at least tier 4 to get it though.
Butapart from that, I rather doubt being there being many of these things around - which is your explanation for the high prices. Be prepared to kill hundreds of Black Suns (i.e. do multiple full duty missions) for each core booster, the drop rate is VERY low.

Let meput to death this rumor once and for all. First of all, the trainer in Theed is the teir 4 RSF mission giver, and rebel pilots can NOT get missions form her. When you talk to her, you get a dialog box that asks you what you are looking for. Your choices for response are rebels and imerials. choosing either of these will result in her saying something along the lines of: "Well you won't find any of those around here" and ending the conversation. I have tried this both as a combatant and on leave with the same result. Is anyone getting a different result?
I have also attemped to get freelance missions as a rebel pilot, and they just tell me something about not wanting to talk to me. So with ICBs droping from mission spawns and rebel space npcs, Rebel pilots seem to up the creek sans paddle. It is a good thing that I am gettingan average of1 per crate of salvaged wuks.

Okay, so it doesn't work for ALL factions it seems. Actually it makes sense that it wouldn't work for Rebel pilots because the RSF are allied with the Imperials (RSF pilots can't attack Imp ships).
But I'm a smuggler pilot, and I get those Black Sun missions from her just fine. And I would guess that Imperials and CorSec (although Rebel aligned they are technically neutrals) should get it too. Did anyone from these factions try it?

So you are saying that for every crate of WUK you salvage, you are averaging 1 ICB? That's a rate of 1 per 25. Correct?
If your a reb pilot I belive you can get blacksun duty missions from a guy in the hotel on Lok.
If your neutral its the RSF triner in the theed palace
And I dont know about imps but i assume there is one some where. Best bet would be to try the pilot forums.
You can also get blacksun duty missiosn from the neutral space station in Dath, but im not sure if this is just for neutral pilots
