Think with LucasArts taking a renewed interest in SWG that there is at least a microscopic chance of smuggler content that would in some way shape or form let Smugglers do something that resembles smuggling? Will the customers finally be shown some respect? Will someone give me some pie?

LucasArts is showing an interest?
Personally, I feel that we would require George Lucas himself to look at our forum for us to get a revamp. I think It would make him cry to realize one of the biggest professions in the original trilogy is being disregared to the extent that it is.

Yes well, have you seen the last 3 movies? Honestly I think this game is exactly in line with them. Jedi Jedi Jedi. Smug-a-WHA!? JEDI! JEDI JEDI!
If you'll notice in the one article linked below, discussing LA as a whole, The president of LA mentions how they've been "tweaking" SWG to "improve" it. You'll then notice that his goal is to "do what WoW is doing," IE, get 2 million subscribers by making the game arcade style with as little depth as possible.
WoW was built from the ground up as a simple arcade style game, SWG was built as a game that is SUPPOSED to be deep, there are supposed to be differences between professions, and the focus is supposed to be more on creating a well rounded and social character than other games. You're SUPPOSED to want to go into a cantina and be able to nod at the dancer, and the spice dealer int he back, and they nod back at you, sit down, have a drink, chat it up, flirt, maybe strike a few business deals.
You can't take a game with that much depth, and try and squeeze it through the Arcade style mould of WoW without DESTROYING the game.
So LA being involved a good thing? No sir, worst possible thing ever. They have their heads up their collective @sses, and time that could be spent researching what Galaxies players really want is apparently spent having toy lightsaber fights in the hall.

Notice how he said players wanted to "jump in and play". To me that says more of a dumbed-down game with fewer risks and no real depth to the content.
Glad I'm gone.

heh, like WoW is. I tell ya, I miss the depth of SWG already
However, the world is a blast to explore, the quests are enjoyable, navigating without waypoints (well, sort of) is a blast and I missed it so.
Can't go much into detail with the Classes/Professions as I just started and am still playing with them all, /shrug.
Way I see it though, is WoW was designed as dumbed-down MMO, SWG is supposed to be like, this esoteric, intellectual magnum opus. You can't make one into the other.
