Hi, I just got My ADK from my Vets and obviuosly off to look for an UBER STAT
weapon. Once purchased I was going to have it sliced and was wondering is there
ANY risk or disadvantage to having it sliced TO THE MAX ?????
Also .. for weapons ... if I get a full custom in Damage slice can it be speed sliced
after that. I presume not but thought I would ask anyways.
Thanks in advance

Yes you can get one speed slice and one critical damage slice in addition to a full damage slice.
It does not have to be in the same slicing session, it can be later down the road.
The FAQ has alot more information...

Right, the FAQ will help. And also, the first design of the new slicing module had much more risk in slicing. In fact, there was a chance of breaking your weapon, only fixable by the Smuggler. This was wiped do to bad design.

If you want an UBER STAT weapon, make friends with a weaponsmith and have him/her craft you a max damage weapon and then slice it for speed and crit hit chance. (max out the speed customization and give it a level 1 crit hit slice). you can't slice a weapon up to the crafting max. However, if you max out the damage slice on a weapon, you should still have some customization left over to give it a level 1 speed slice.
Risk? There's always risk involved. But if you don't have a weirdly crafted or old weapon and you're working with a reputable smuggler that won't run off with your weapon, there should be virtually no chance that anything adverse will happen to your UBER STAT weapon.

hahahahahaha. is there a downside... a risk... to slicing?
oh that's precious.
you'd think there would be, because ya know... slicing is supposed to be ILLEGAL but, we wouldn't want to inconvenience any Players with any sort of risks or challenge would we?

*grumble grumble* ... there would be a risk to your reward had they stuck with PlanA and kept a spine. That meant occasional weapon jams that can be cleared by a smuggler.
it didnt happen.. you are free to enjoy your reward without risk. Feel free to think of them as rights and entitlements now too, everyone else seems to. We will leave it up to your role playing to make them illegal, afterall 99% of the players role play.

max speed is 100% customization.
I suggest you get your uber weapon and take a look at the sling assistant stickied at the top of the page. Play with that untill you find the combo you want.

Yes, there's a downside to slicing.
The inclusion of slicing weapons assured that the devs would feel justified in never letting us smuggle.
kthxbye

That is the worst advice ever to give someone.
Never get a weaponsmith to custom make you a weapon with maxed damage. You tell them to get the SAC as low as possible then to work on damage. You can get damage and speed sliced at a later date, but SAC on a weapon should always be experimented on the most.
Plus like someone else mentioned in a post above mine, you cannot slice a damage after slicing 4 speed, it maxes the customization at tier 4 of speed. If you max out damage you can get one speed and one critical slice in addition.
