Smuggler Archive
Thread: an odd revelation
Hey fellow smugglers. I dont post to often but I realized something recently that i wanted to share. I LOVE BEING A SMUGGLER, for all its shortcomings and gimpness. It has a certain untangible that makes it so much more than any other proffesion in the game. I've been away from SWG for about 3 months now. And my smuggler was rarley played for months before that, in favor of wielding my glowy stick. Like many i got tired of the constant grind, imbalance lack of content, shafted gimped smuggler. But a couple of days ago i decided to return, but something odd happened when i logged in. I didnt choose to play my jedi. I had a realization, It was my smuggler that called to me, I realizedI really like this character. Some of the best times i had ingame where when i was playing him, and he kind of took on a personality all his own. This is the first character i can say that about. I've never been much of a RPer but, thinking back a bit of my gametime on my smuggler was just that. It mostly consisted of being a jerk, but it was lots of fun. Ill give you an example of "being a jerk"
Id hang out in a cantina or starport with my fixer tag up and, wait those "in the know" to send me tells for slicing. Id respond "meet me out back, come with 15k or dont come at all" ( this was when slicing was almost universely 3k) then Id inevitably get the "15K!!!??? ARE YOU CRAZY" tell, or worse. (this is the part i get to be a jerk) " 15k otherwise f*^% off". Sometimes they paid, sometimes they walked. The point is it was lots of fun being a scoundrel. Not sure what happened to slicing, because since my return ive done 2 sets of armor and about 15 guns and not one customer has balked at the price. Hmmm maybe i can get 30k.
