OOOHHHH, whew. Sorry.

I have to admit, I was REALLY surprised when I read that.....

"You can go about your business. Move along, move along."

To be honest I have to say I have only love for smugglers especially those in the long haul.

With that said I really don't appreciate being told by other players what and what not to do. If I find a krayt pearl or something similar in a sliced container (I can wish can't I)...it's mine. Does it make me a bad person...well that depends on your point of view! I carry CDEF pistols and other clothing just for this purpose to swap for valuable items.

I am annoyed at those players (ahem) who are ready to flame a "dishonest" smug when they don't read through there whole post.

I had a thought that the reason why our prices suffer (slicing-wise) is all you do-gooders smugs who don't rip your customers off (well maybe occasionally). Now bear with me I'm not going for the flame war but to make a point.

Spices don't sell and just about what we have left is faction (yeah right) and slicing (at least for me that's a steady market). If the players can simply find any other "honest" smug who may/may not take their precious composite or RIS armor the value of our service goes down (in part). We get taken for granted like auto-docs.

The value of our services goes down when you can shop around and find it cheap. I think (yes it maybe warped) that if the player has it in the back of his mind that he may lose his armor/weapon then he may dig a little deeper to insure this doesn't happen. Okay there are CSR's but there really aren't any guarantees in this came.

Now my thread is to do nothing more than to make a point or two. The main thing is think for yourself and not let others dictate how you play your game. Sure this is a forum but how you play is up to you.

And now for the actual post:

Ok, this hurts me to the core. I am a VERY trusted smuggler. People come to me because they loot some uber Mind-Fire Pike and don't want some guy stealing it. I NEVER look in any of the containers that I slice open for folks because then there is no temptation at all to take something. It was once said in this forum that Smugglers are the most trusted players in this game. I uphold that ideal to the nth degree. My character is a Rogue/Criminal sure. But he is a criminal to the authorities. When I slice for someone, that's a job. If I'm not making enough cash doing the things that SMuggler actually allows me to do, then I'm jus not trying very hard. (ie. I make 500k doing 2 jobs yesterday, and that was without looking) I get /tells from people because they know I can be trusted with their RIS, their Uber-weapons. Stealing from other players is terrible. I'm not trying to flame any other smugglers, but........

Other opinions on this are welcomed. Thank-you

Now why on earth would someone one-star this post? Geez - stupid people. Here's a 5 star to help balance things.

What? Not sure I get the point of this post, or that I like at all what I'm reading. We're Smugglers, not petty criminals. We Smuggle (or are supposed to Smuggle) stuff, we don't rob or steal.

Our value is not reduced by being honest, it is improved. If a Smuggler becomes known as a thief, no more work for that Smuggler, no matter if it's slicing or Smuggling, and less work for the rest, as people begin to wonder if they can trust ANY Smuggler. The best investment a Smuggler can make is his reputation.

Good rep = more, better, and higher paying work.
Bad rep = NOTHING!

I posted this here because the conversation started in the "Chuckle" Thread and I didn't think that it belonged there. MOD123 (or whatever) thinks it's ok to steal from other players. I just wanted to know if my honesty was an exception, or the rule.

I guessour one star banditdid not read THE WHOLE POST.

Stealing from another player is not cool and any "kid" who does just makes it harder for the rest of us. To say "Im a Smuggler I can do what I want cause we are work in the Underworld" is just cop-out and I think 99.9% of the Smugglers in-game will agree.
