Thread: i have a slicing question from a none smuggler

i have just had some nice pistols made........920 max damage and was planning on having a level 2 damage slice done on them to push them up to the cap of 948 and then a level 2 speed slice.........BUT! a smuggler contact of mine tried to slice one of them and got a message saying 'this weapon is already at the max damage' or similar when he even tried to apply the level 1 slice.
whats going on here then? is there a lower cap on slices than crafting? am i going to have to go with a full speed slice?

the slicing cap is lower then the maax dmg cap.

thanks...thats a royal pain in the ass tho, i wanted to get these babys damage capped before i sold them

In some situations...
I've sliced a rifle to max damage.

Then there's always the possibility there's a dmg-pup on it at the time. Though most Smugglers smartly remove them before any slice attempt.
