I'm doing a slice for a Master Bounty Hunter's main weapon, and I'd like to know what you all think is the best slicing choice for this.

The Weapon cap for this gun is listed as 948, (although Ihear rumors that the slicing cap is actually lower then the crafting cap)

His gun is very close to cap on damage already, so I'm not sure if I should risk a lvl 1 damage slice on this gun. Does anyone know what happens if you slice a gun that is near cap? Will it's damage go to cap and the extra is wasted or will the slice not be allowed at all?

Should I do a full lvl 3 Critical slice? Or should I do a Crit 2, Damage 1, Speed 1? Keep in mind he is a Master Bounty Hunter, so he'd make good use of that extra critical chance, unless the critical slice is completely bugged for everyone.

If it's already capped then the 1st slice will be rejected, however with your gun, the 1st slice would be done, just any further damage slicing would have no effect (but they WILL consume the items!)

Somebody I grouped with yesterday had an interesting idea, get a gun with maxed damage and sac, and then slice the speed, there was a comment about how that would make a really great gun. Anywho, I don't deal with slicing as it is currently, I just avoid it unless the customer knows EXACTLY what he wants AND has the items.
