Hello all in the Smuggler profession, I have recently acquired a NS LVA with a =25 terrain neg, and +25 polearm dodge, and noticed that at the bottom it does not say the item has been sliced, can a looted item like this be sliced? and if sliced what are the possible negative effects it could have on the LVA. Thanks for all responses

It can be sliced with no negative effects.

If it hasn't been sliced, then, yes, it can be. Items that are sliced decay slightly faster, but not by much (more than worth the gain imo); that's pretty much the only detrimental effect (and of course if you're successfully scanned/caught by a scan team, depending on your faction and rank, there may or not be penalties to your character).

Didn't one of the devs confirm that they don't decay faster but are more likely to have a crappy repair instead, I remember reading that before. Found the thread

Actually, now that you mention it, I seem to remember TH saying something about that.. but it was my understanding that the more a weapon is used/the more damage it does then the more it decays, ergo increasing the damage or the speed could potentially increase the decay rate.
