There are many of you that are anti-FD in PvP. However what's wrong with FDing 30 min into a base raid when you have a mind and health fire on you and you are being chased by 3 dark jedi knights spamming /dervish2? (yes, this happend to me yesterday) Untill DOTs and jedi are largely removed from PvP and the GCW then in my mind there is no reason for the FD change. PvP is not really gonna change with the GCW changes like everyone is hoping. It's still going to be the same 'the side with the most DOTs and jedi knights will win' BS that we have now. But FD was game breaking don't ya know....and a 400 tic mind fire is not.../ponder

Best QFE ever.

Come on now though, DOTs don't just like kill people by themselves once you get them to stick or anything. That'd be crazy. Give the guy who spent the most credits on a weapon a little credit.

DoTs suck. Too many Jedi sucks. FD in PvP sucks. These things gum up the system in different ways. Keeping FD to ease the other two is still mucking things up.

I can completely understand your sentiment though. Two wrongs don't make a right, and three wrongs sure as hell don't either.

Matter of fact, changing FD now will help ensure that there will be LESS Jedi running around dervish2ing your butt. As far as DoTs: at least the devs put limited use ones in game only.

Funny story, one time I was DoTed with like a 900 action bleed or some crazyness like that. I thought, "oh, just a bleed. Whatever." Then it ticked. Half of my life instantly went down. For the life of me, it took a minute or two to discern that the damage was actually coming from a bleed, and not a poison or enemy fire!!!

Nerfing FD only means they'll go for FR2 sooner, they've said it themselves. I really don't see nerfing FD lessening Jedi, especially since the Devs have now condoned "Fight Clubs".

The question still remains which came first, the chicken or the egg. If the BH were FD'ing first to keep mission and the Jedi were screaming nerf or vice versa. I think the answer to that question tells you why we're now "fixed". I firmly believe that this wasn't even a top issue to the devs until the Jedi didn't like BHs using it. With their track record of devoting so many of their resources to Jedi issues, it's hard to see it any other way. I'm of the mindset that actions speak louder than words, and their actions are a whole lot different than their words. If not, we wouldn't still be waiting on CURB info/testing while they continue to go after other parts of the game. The CURB was supposed to be top priority, but it sure looks like it's continuing to take a back seat to "quick fixes" to keep people from leaving the game.

I'm with the brain on this one. If everything else could wait to be brought into balance, why couldn't we?

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Yes, exactly -- why did FD get "fixed" NOW? When smugglers asked about whether or not "black barring" a person who had feigned death was an exploit or not, SOE replied in two ways: 1) Feign Death is working as intended and 2) Feign Death was never intended as a PVP move.

As soon as Jedi learned how to use FD to avoid the BH system (and both BH and Jedi learned how to exploit it in other ways with which we are all familiar) it was suddenly NOT working as intended and the "fixing" of this "bug" (never intended as a PVP move) got shifted to the top of the pile.

FD WAS game breaking when used during Bounty Hunter missions, no doubt about it. I just find it interesting how this whole thing was handled. As I have said elsewhere and many times, they should have discussed it with us before making the change. Failing that, it should have been written up clearly and concisely in the patch notes. Failing that, someone at SOEshould have discussed this issue with us frankly and honestly after once again failing to communicate with us on something SO basic as this "fix."

Here is the sum total we have heard from SOE regarding this "fix" (which leaves us with TWO out of three working combat moves for PVP -- we have nothing to compensate for that, and are we going to have to wait until the combalanceupbatregrade for that?): JustG said: "This has been a long-standing bug that was fixed because of the impending GCW changes."

SOE, please provide more detail. What is the plan for replacing that move in PVP for smugglers?

Actually, I wasn't really getting into the whole Jedi did this thing. More about the Devs and their need to try and fool everyone about their motives. I won't be satisfied until they begin to focus on what's been promised for so long. I condoned waiting for our Revamp in favor of the CURB because of what it would mean to the game. Now, I'm saddled with a whole lot more of non CURB fixes which should have been devoted to the other professions. They continue to say one thing and do another and it's alarming to me that so many people do not see this.

My point is that no matter what is "priority" or what is scheduled, everything takes a backseat to fixes for Jedi and the system they are a part of. It seems to me that eventually they might want to start devoting time and resources to what they're advertising before all they have left on the servers are Jedi and BHs.

Enough is enough already. It's time for them to put my money where their mouth is and put the effort into Smuggler and other professions that they have in such a small portion of the game.

In other words, fix us ALL at the same time like you were supposed to instead of just "fixing" us.

You're looking at this the wrong way Fish.

The problem is that Jedi can dabble in other professions.

The bigger issue is that the three iconic classes aren't kept seperate from one another. Also, Jedi are allowed to participate in the GCW, which is equally absurd.

PvP isn't going to change until they nerf DoT weapons and either remove Jedi from the GCW, or give us something with lightsaber resistance...not high resist, just 25% even.

The fact is, something's gotta give with Jedi. You can shove as many thumbs as you want into a cracking dam, but sooner or later (probably later,) it's going to burst and the flood's going to drown the masses.

My only hope is that the developers realize how much Jedi hurt this game, before everyone else quits and they rename it KOTOR Online.

I am Jack's Smirking Revenge. I am Jack's Ignored Profession.
Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.
