Thread: What is so good about Smugglers?
Do smugglers get things and smuggle them past the Imperials?
Do they just get nice little perks to help in combat?
Do they get special quest?
Too bad they left the criminal faction out. I think it would have been nice to be a smuggler and get a TEF for transporting illegal material.
Oh I am a Novice Pistoleer right now. I have all tier 3 levels in the scouting profession. But don't know what else I am going into.
*groans*
Right now, there isn't much for us to do besides slicing, which you seem to think is our only redeeming quality. Keep that in mind next time you run around wanting your armor or weapon sliced and can't find anyone to do it.

Reminds me of Mr. Macky...
I took the... and I...
Ya I'm pretty sure I took it and.... hmm.. what the hell did I do with that thing anyway.

Heheh..you just have to be careful around these forums, as the majority of us who have been smugglers for a time tend to be very cranky when it comes to the subject of "what good are we?".
But yes, good pistol specials (when paired with pistoleer), feign death (always handy in sticky situations), spices (not worth it with chef food being so powerful), slicing (always good for a quick buck, assuming you can actually nail a decent one).
I won't lie, smuggler isn't all it COULD be, but hopefully our revamp will fix that.

Dude,
Look at these FINE specimen of smuggler-tude and ask that again.
- You can make money in 4 different ways using 4 separate skills. Sell faction with Underworld, Slice with Slicing, Missions with Dirty Fighting, and sell spice with Spices.
- You only lose half the FP for a PvP death.
- You can buy faction.
- You get a discount on faction perks.
- You can slice weapons and armor.
- You can slice terminals for higher paying missions.
- Only ranged KD with a pistol.
- Only ranged state attack (not counting dizzy) with a pistol.
- Only class with a special that prevents a deathblow.
- The most powerful single pistol shot in the game.
- The return on investment for spice is virtually unparalleled.
- The quality of resources for crafting play no part.
- The pre-reqs allow you to master 2 full elite combat class in addition to smuggler.
- The crafting lines do not require artisan. This results in more points for other crafting professions or merchant.
- To make the best products or provide the best service, we do not require another profession (like chefs and BEs.
- Rogue is a pretty cool title.
