Ok, I heard TH say something about visiting smuggler this week... so heres hoping he sees this *crosses fingers*

Question: Will being a faction aligned pilot disrupt ones ability to smuggle? Just wondering if I would still be an effective smuggler as a rebel pilot as oposed to a privateer. Cause personally I'm torn.. I want to be the best smuggler I can.. but I also want to be able to pilot an A-wing on occasion

i feel the same and I hope a dev does see this..

I hope you can get your 1 *free* piloting profession (outside 250 SP) and then if you want to, spend the skill points out of your original 250 to get a second...

i.e. Alliance pilot and Privateer

And no, of course NOT Alliance and Imperial

why? I want to have my X-Wing for Alliance space battles... and a nice light freighter of some type to do my smuggling in

You will probably be able to pilot some ships (i.e. the YT1300 and maybe others) without having to do PVP if you are an alliance pilot. And we dont even know at this point how many ships you will be able to own. Sounds rather unrealistic (I know its a game everythings unrealistic) but sounds unrealistic in this universe for a guy to be toting around 4 to 5 ships

edit: btw TH will only be stopping by to try and get our design doc for the smuggler revamp...not for JTL stuff Im sure...best to post this kind of stuff in the JTL forum if you want it to actually be seen...

See thats why I'd be perfectly happy if they became normal 'structures' while on the ground.. having something that big in your pocket, thats kinda odd.

No No No! The ships are parked at the Starport in Landing Lots 77, 23, and 54.... those things in your datapad are just the keys. Silly Smuggler, Spice is for the customers!

Ahh well when you put it that way.... Why do the imperial starport authorities allow rebel-marked craft to land?

heheh

I have basically the same worry for Smuggler except the other way around. I am worried that as a pricateer, if I get nailed in space with an illegally modified ship I cannot get in a fray with the Imperials that did it, instead I will just get fined, wheras if I was Rebel there would be an ensuing battle. The other thing I am worried about is which piloting profession gets the YT-1300 (the only frieghter for launch)? If it's Privateer, then the Rebel Pilots cannot fly it anyway and there goes any hope of flying an X-Wing and a frieghter. Maybe it will be used by all 3 piloting professions, but I'm not sure.

It's been said that there will be a YT-1300 in each of the pilot trees.

they also said in the JTL facts that your pilot skill pts will not be from you standard 250, but will in fact be a seperate skill tree that will not take away from the professions that you already have.
