Thread: Merchant Vendors- Bazaars- Casinos- Cantinas and your spices and sliced weapons.
And I know we ALL agree you should not be able to sell spices and sliced weapons on the bazaar, so where does that leave us?
Are we going to propose having vendor certs in the UW tree?
Another thing akin to that is should we be lobbying to place gaming machines?
If so I vote we are limited to Player Cantinas- as they need a lot of help- and LAGFEST that the Coronet cantina has become is equal to if not worse than when the abandoned vehicle bug existed.
Also, allowing smugglers to place slicing and spicing vendors- Especially in a cantina- along with the ability to place games could EASILY lead to REAL criminal organizations in the game. Considering the games allow you to win and lose decent amounts of cash.
You only need Business 3 in the artisan skills to have a vendor.
Beside, the purpose of this change is to make merchant profession more usefull.
So Instead of having every single player having his own vendor, people will sell to merchant and they will sell on their vendor. After all, that's what a merchant is supposed to do.
Does make sence, and I hope it'll reduce the number of empty vendors.
As for cantinas, if a merchant or an artisan is on the admin list of a player cantina, he can place a vendor in it
.
Hope that help.
But as I understand it- once you drop business 3- you lose your vendor. Is that right?
We are pushing for a ban on selling contraband on the bazaar which, if this passes, will force us to take business 3 to get a vendor- Again, not a problem- but if we have to KEEP business 3 to hold the vendor- well, that's a problem. Especially for triple masters who want to sell spices.
As I understood it, yes, you'll loose the vendor if you drop the skill.
This way, you have ot choose between using you skill points to have a vendor, or find a merchant and make a deal with him.
Not being able to sell on the bazaar won't force you to have a vendor, but to find a merchant.
Keep in mind every single vendor in the galaxy has this offer button
.
We'll just need to find better ways for merchant to specify what they wanna buy.
Honestly, I don't see a big problem there.
What I find strange is having spices on a vendor. I think there should be some more specific selling channels for drugs.

That's what I'm saying- Make it so that you can only sell them in person, or at a vendor in a Player Cantina- Or give some kinda of bonus for using a Cantina-
We have all these REALLY cool player cantinas and everyone is crowded into the lobby of Coronet's cantina.
Other than that- I might just have to square a deal with a merchant soon if that passes cause I don't have Business 3 anymore and I got a mess of crap on my vendor.
Would be cool if we could place vendors/casino games in cantinas though

I would love to see a real casino style games introduced into the smuggler line. There is already gambeling in SWG. But its so primative as to be totally unfun. Imagine being able to sit down at a gaming table in a casino/player cantinaand open up a "gamming window" with other players where you can play games like poker, blackjackealer or even Saabac (if Lucas arts has ever fleshed out this game).

Just make a deal with the cantina owner.
Besides that, I think maybe Player Hotel might be a better idea.
Hotels are very underused and that's where the gambling is.
Even if it should be improved.
As for player cantina that are empty, dunno on your server, but on mine I know more crowded player cantina than Theed and even sometimes coronet (all the time if you don't count the AFK).
You can heal BF and get musician/dancer buff there.
And there is those silly games.
That's all the use they have.
But that's pretty much the same as the cantina except there are those games.
As for if this change is sure, I don't know.
But merchant ask for it for a long time, and as I understood dev agreed something was wrong with people keeping the bonus of having vendors when they drop the skills.

I'm pretty sure my final template is not going to have any artisan in it- As much as I LOVE to craft, I need to use all my SP for combat to play the kind of game I want to play.
That said- I will be selling spice hand to hand I guess, which would be awesome if I could get busted for it.
That or make a deal with my friendly neighborhood Cantina owner with a vendor.
when is that change supposed to go down anyway? Is it in for sure?
