Thread: Tactical advice for the recently Tripple Mastered?

I get it all the time: "You're a tripple master? Wow! I hear they're great! What can you solo?"

Trouble is, I dont have an answer for them! I realy haven't felt that big a change since I mastered Pistoleer and Smuggler, though I figure my defenses against melee attacks must be better now with TKM. Every time I switch to VKs, the target reverts to range and runs for their Ideal distance. No matter how hard I try, getting dizzy to stick seems unacheviable, and even when I finally do, the target has stood back up... And while Meditate 4 has given me a fantastic set of abilities with powerboost/meditative healing/FoW, I'm not feeling the TKM advantage.

Now, it has only been a week or so.Perhaps I'm just being impatient. Or maybe I'm just a little dense...

Either way, I ask my fellow tripple threats, I hear ya when you say its great and can accomplish vast amounts... but could you point me to the "Idiot's Thread to Tripple Threat Tactics", cause I'm not seeing it yet.

Im very new at it as well, ive found that (if possible) leading your target in doors works. Also hit them with a pistol knck down shot then hit follow target then dizzy works also, you just have to be fast and hit them before they have a chance to get up. PvP, i have not tryed yet but we will see. So try a blaster knock down and then run up and bustem in the eye socket.......

If you're having trouble landing the dizzy before they stand up can I suggest you land the dizzy first, then KD them?

I'm not a triple master, but this strikes me as the simple answer.

I just finished up pistoleer last night but i've been most of the way done for a couple weeks now. I find that against most higher level mobs I am using TK MUCH more than pistol skills. The only exception is if they have a high kinetic resist, which in that case most of the time I won't even bother. The only good the smuggler line gives for tough mobs is feign death and last ditch (which isn't a heck of a lot different than stopping shot).

State effects and KD's are tough to land on any tough mob, the best state you have going for you is intimidate. I can tank a krayt with some good buffs and brandy/canape while using cob and intimidate. I just dont care to spend the 2-3 hours there to kill it myself. NS's are not much of a problem except for the elders, which we can barely touch. But all in all besides playing support in ranged fight (panic shot, lucky low blows) I find myself using TK in almost every situation. /shrug

Oh one addition, for pvp a decent geo blaster can make a big difference against the right opponent.

I USED TO take Defense Stacker 2....do you?

What can I solo? Well I've tanked nightsister elders while the riflemen finished them off (in one case 2 at once). I've soloed the geo cave except ackley and only because someelse killed him right before I got to the bottom. Tusken fort - Piece of cake. Need I continue?

The question here realy is, "how", not what, but I'm not sure I made that clear. The mid to low lvl NPCs are a given, put them on the ground and keep them there by getting them too dizzy to stand.

I thinkmy questionshould've been:"What tactics are you currently using to take on the tougher MOBs as a Tripple Master".

For example: I get eaten alive by the Kwi in the Geo cave. Buffed, armored, spiced, boosted, fed, vitalized, and drunk- They still force me to Feign everytime. Geos themselves are a piece of cake with a good DX2 and Fanshot or HealthShot2, but the Kwi get me knocked up quick. I'm obviously doing something wrong. I understand that, but I'm not quite grasping what. It sounds like I rely too much on pistols for the kenitic MOBs like Kwi. So I guess a few thoughts on how and where the lines lie between TKA and Pistoleer tactics is what I'm looking for.

I find that if you cant get dizzy to stick hit them with a stun and then dizzy will stick right after. I always dizzy before KD. Remember as a triple master you have 3 KD's. The pistol whip, the Lowblow and UKD. If you dizzy and they run just take out the pistol and KD.

As for stormies and other fleet foot NPC's, one word - unarmed lunge - then dizzy/KD. - game over. Another tactic you can use is to low blow/panic shot/peace to get into melee range apply the dizzy and finish with the unarmed lunge.

Even better, I simply got master pistoleer, the combat tree of smuggler, the meditation tree of TKA and the flame tree of commando.

I just got low defences, but I cure that with a good armour and a good powerboost combined with dancer/musician buff, muon gold, vaserian brandy and canape, plus some doc buffs...

Triple is a nice balanced template, however when you come to high level mobs then you just don't do enough damage, If you want to do high levelPvE I'd go swordman. Most of the high level mobs are melee and as a rifleman I don't last long. Where PvP is concerned then stay triple master or go rifleman. I've taken out a few people as a triple master but far more as a rifleman. As I keep saying I'll be going back to triple after CB
