Well, I'm stumped. I'm currently about 80% of the way through commando, 50% through TKA, and a little into smuggler and pistoleer, and I'm seriously having trouble deciding where to go. I love being the PvE monster that I am with buffs, but at the same time I'm looking for more style and challenge than simply spamming /flamecone1 while running circles around enemies, and the smuggler specials have always tempted me.

The problem comes in with pistoleer... I just got pistoleer this morning, and after having played through most of TKA and commando, the damage output and flair of the class is laughable. While the concept of being a pistol-toting bad-arse sounds awesome, I have to admit that I'm skeptical from what I've seen so far.

Anywho, what I'm trying to ask is what the other members of the smuggling community's experience has been with commando, pistoleer, and TKA. TKA is awesome, but it makes dirty-fighting and underworld a pain to level, not to mention greatly reduces the usefulness of dirty fighting in general, and commando leaves very few skill points spare (destroying the possiblity of getting wound-healing meditation 4).

Thanks in advance.

Well, there is always the triple master (tka, smugg, pistol). While this can be a potentially devastating combination in PvP with the proper equipment, high end kinetic resist mobs will laugh at you in PvE. Yes I know this CAN be a viable PvE template, but it takes a heck of a lot more planning and effort than a fly-by-the-seat-of your-pants average smuggler may be willing to dish out.

Hmm, I should probably ask if you wanted to pick up master smuggler, or simply dabble with the dirty fighting. If you go master though, you may want to keep at least the flamethrower branch of commando, then delegate leftover points between the dodge of pistoleer, and the defenses and meditate of the TKA skill onion.

If you want an example of what I'm going for, as comparison, I've got master smugg, soon to have master TKA, then working on rifleman 4-4-0-4. Good defenses, different types of damage for the different mobs, high damage output at range and up close, with feign death and sticking a lowblow or 2 in there when i've managed to dizzy them with the rifle.

Lemme know about whether or not you are looking for master smugg, or just the ever-cool Rogue title though. That could make a heap of difference in your template.

Thanks Kaibur. The idea is primarily to go for master smuggler, though I may end up stopping at slicing and dirty fighting 4. I do like the template you suggested, though I may end up going for heavy support weapons in place of the defensive modifiers of TKA, simply to have an AP3 attack for high-level group encounter situations.

Thanks again, I really appreciate the input.
