Just posted this on my galaxie forum but wanted you guys views as well
Hello guys I just tried this out, by targetting NPCs at a base then trying to kill the PC once they attacked.The guys there didn't seem to like be doing it. Go figure. So I got up after my TEFed wore off and ran away, all the while beening called a 14 year old cheating kid, or something to the extent.
Now I said to one guy that I'd duel him one on one and if he won he could db me. Now with the black mind bar I didn't last long. Though I admit he would have probably beaten me anyway. I think it was all sorted out to an extent. I agreed to go back overt the next time around, which I usualy do. As I said I was just trying this out today.
Now what I want to know is if you guys think this is an expolit?
Going to a player base covert. Targeting a NPC and getting TEFed.
Having PCs attack you (or 3 CMs in this case
You trying to kill the PCs
You fiegning death when the fight seems to be going bad.
You getting the .... kicked out of you for the next five minutes with loads of awful stuff thrown at you which is bad for your health.
TEF wereing off
You standing up and healing (This is where it went wrong for me as I could not meditate to heal my wounds due to the fact I was locked in combat, one of the reason I probably won't do it again 
Rinse and Repeat.
My arguement for using this tactic...
I'm a smuggler I'm not meant to play fair. I use dirty tricks to win fights.
There's nothign stopping the PC from dropping a faction scanner on me.
feel free to flame or contribute from a neutral prospective, I don't want to have all the Rebels slagging me for using this tactic and all the imperial backing me up. I want your personal views on this if it happened to you. Try to view from both the smugglers view and the PCs view as well.

you spent the skill points.. use it....
screw anyone who calls u an exploiter.... i guess your just supossed to bend over and let 3 cms kill you? lol
ive never attacked to get a tef hoping to kill a pc... but i have attack npc's for the sake of attacking them... in which ive recieved a tef.... i usually try and fight........ especially one on one..... but all to often im fighting 3 or more people... ill fight up until the point i get poisened by a cm in a multiple engagment.... then feign death...
i was fighting 4 people all unbuffed once and so was I in bestine.... holding out just fine.. killed one pretty quick... and was holding off 2 more and it was an incredible fun fight....(even after i talked to my opponents about how cool of a fight it was) until a cm comes in and boom my mind is at nothing in two seconds flat... i was immediatly takin down by him and db'ed.... now i mean come on 3 on 1 and the puke had to use poisen on me? lol thats pretty pathetic... so i have a new rule.. the moment i get poisend in pvp combat i feign death cos ill be damned if im gonna let some spinless puke with no skill take me out and pick off my last mind point with a cdef or some crap....
so feign death away you spent the skill points mang...

Not an exploit to me. The exploit I think in this case is the ability of the CM's to lay every kind of nastiness on you for 5 minutes while the TEF wore off. I really think a feigned player needs to become untargetable, but that will probably never happen.
Kudos to you for being intelligent enough to avoid the instant death from the CM's and frustrating them so much. (Sorry, but CM's don't deserve any sympathy from me, so gotta take a jab at them when I can)
Thumbs down to the black bar of death thing..I've had that happen several times, so I can sympathize. Good thing I picked up the meditate line in TKA.
Oh, and don't feign near a dish turret..I made that mistake once, forgetting they had the scanner. Soooo, after the PC's went away, I stood up, got another TEF, then burstrun back towards Bestine, only to be killed mid run. Oh well.

No its not an exploit. They're just bitching because they missed out on a kill.

You are missing half the fun.....
1)Get a tef, have fun farming for a bit
2)If a Cm or other player comes that you cannont handle feign death
3) Wait for your tef to disappear, all while they continue to blacken your HAM bars
4) Stand up, meditate
5) Watch them go away

FD, as defined bythe way it functionsfunction in PvP, is to be used to prevent yourself from being db'd by annother player. It's very nature in PvP combat is to do this and only this. As I understand it, you merely used it in this fasion, though the extenuating circumstances could easily lead the observer to believe it was being used asharrassment. The drawback is that you still suffer wounds while FD'd, this is fair enough in that it keeps you from using it too often. The players in question were witin their rights to beat your corpse until it was all black-rot, and you had every right to sit there till they went away, or until the danger passed. The only case of harrasment I read in your post may have been in the language they were using in their statements to you. I myself would request they stop first, then warn that they are harrassing next, and eventually /report them if they continue, but my sense of ethics may be a bit skewed.
You used a special as it was intended, both in it's operation and in the spirit it was implimented in the game. I wouldnt worry.
Next time someone harasses you for it, let them challange you when you get up,meditate back to 100%, wait for the best moment, and accept the duel when they least expect it. KD/Dizzy and mind hits ought to do the trick if you can time it right... oh, wait...that'd be evil. Well, at least it would give them an actual reason to cry "exploiter"!

I havn't tried this out yet, but wouldn't you regain a tef as soon as you got up and the npc's that you hadn't finished off yet started attacking you? I can see this working if they are all dead though......interesting.

Hmm.... Probably would. But im guessing you would stay down until you saw no little blue dots on your radar.

hahahahah, this is exactly what i do and as they laugh at me and i meditate, i say "i could care less bud"
P.S. be sure if you do this, FD anytime, take off all your armor

Nope, not an exploit and you used it just fine! For the wrong side ... but correctly.
