If we don't cry now to make our point clear, the DEVs will never stop putting it live.

This nerf hits me hard, because in my PA I do the slicing for two crafter so they can offer sliced stuff. Both of them talk about quiting their Profession it this comes live. I asked the other crafters I know and they all will do the same. Goodbye credits and goobye Uptdate Kits for me. The least I want to do is standing ata starport and spamming the area, but what else can I do, if no crafter is crafting anymore on my friendlist?

According to the Merchant Correspondent, the fact that there will be alimit is 100% certain, but the exact limit might be increased. I think the Devs put a lower limit than they intended, so they canincrease it a little and be seen to be making a compromise.

There's been enough of an outcry, I think the Devs will get the point. While I love getting loot kit pieces and seeing "You have looted the corpse of all items", I can live without the stone knives, survival knives, pea-shooter blasters, broken this and thats, etc. and settle for an occasional really cool item. I personally think the loot kits (and upping the spawn on the pieces) were an ingenious idea and tons of fun, I actually hope they dream up a few more items to make.

I'm looking forward to the smuggler revamp and I think it'll help too. Its nice that we finally made it onto the "In Concept" page on the site. The ideas Caylin and some of the others have come up with are rockin sweet.

Well, this is a shameless plug because I am also on Corbantis...

I generally carry AUKs, WUKs, PLKs, MCs, and survival knives. I usually only have one page of inventory and my alt is a dedicated merchant. The nerf probably won't hit me very hard although like many others, I think the item limit is way too low. If your regular vendor is out, there is a good chance I'm going to be stocked with about 15-20 of every item just about any time of the day. The waypoint is in my signature.

Alright, I just found out about the merchant nerf today and I personally was rather upset to hear about it once I read the posts people have written on it. If you want the gory details of what's gonna happen, check the merchant threads and the "Leave your flamethrower at the door" thread on that forum.... so to people wondering what all the fuss is about, basically, Merchants can only have 660 items spread out over 6 vendors (anyone else getting a "mark of the beast" vibe, lol?). Also, empty vendors are deleted in two weeks.

Okay, we're all sick of empty vendors, so thats cool- except that whole twist about someone putting that 9999999 foraged piece of WHATEVER on to keep it up. Well there goes, that idea lol. I posted my ideas on this in the merchant forum on that thread I mentioned so I'm not really gonna go into that here.

The problem this creates for smugglers is that getting certain items is going to be extremely difficult and selling spice is going to be out of the question now. Weapon Upgrade Kits and Armor Upgrade Kits... basically slicing anything altogether. Kiss it goodbye. Very few merchants are going to be willing to put these items up for anything less then a ridiculous price when it is already hard enough for us to make credits with crippled combat skill (all for combat skill mods in the smuggler revamp and smuggler missions b ). Selling spice is also going to become rather difficult... because merchants are going to be trying to put their own items on their limited vendor spaces, they're not going to want to waste their time with spice dealing. There goes our spice tree... I personally have a vendor that sells spices other then Neutron and Muon and I don't know what's gonna happen with that after this.

I do agree that Master Smuggler needs a vendor. That would help alot and I think the same should go for other professions like Tailor, Architect, etc. Merchant is kind of a useless tree besides the whole vendor options thing and it just takes up skill points... skill points are something a smuggler can't afford to lose at this stage being we barely have enough to hold our Master Smuggler title, a few combat boxes, basic medic and scout, and then have a vendor.

Guys, I would highly suggest heading over the merchant forums or the dev forums and sticking up for us smugglersover there by standing against this merchant nerf. There are reasonable alternatives like getting rid of worthless loot drops to make space for JTL.

This is normal behavior from the devs. They set the limit so low that everyone gets up in arms and then they will raise the limit to precisely where they intended it to be and the player base will sing them praises. I'm more curious to see their intended limit because it's a dirty technique they use but it has worked fairly well for them in the past.

They act like smugglers, kinda shifty, yet they show us no profession love. /kicks a dev

Because of empty vendors, I've been buying all of my upgrade kits from the bazaar anyway. I seriously doubt the vendor change will hamper slicing kit availability.

I been trying to get word out about this to all my guildies.

I think it's a bad tactic.

What they NEED to do is make it so people without Businss III or above cannot still keep vendors. To me, it's an exploit of a bug, hence an exploit - when people drop all business skills to keep a vendor up.

As for the limit. A limit is a necessary evil. But 50-100 items per box? That is just plain rediculous! I sell at least 50 of each type of smuggler tool. That's about 200 tools. Plus any odds and ends I come across that I fell will help the playerbase. Mainly Loot. So I have maybe 250-300 items on my one vendor. I dropped alot of boxes in Pistoleer just to get Business III so I could place a vendor and now I'm gonna be limited b/c of developers who can't properly optimize their database??? Lame.

i think to get my WUKs and AUKs that i will need to pickup novice Weaponsmith and novice Armoursmith, but that means dropping other skills which i dont want to do, i am not yet a master smuggler so the lack of WUKs and AUKs hasnt really hit me yet, i just need to work up Underworld and Dirty Fighting.
