Thread: My Friday State of the Union Address

I Love using pompus Message Subjects to attract attention! 
After seeing Digidante's name grace the forums yesterday and it got me to thinking. For those of you who saw and participated in the thread before it got deleted, he made reference to how the Smuggler's forum was turning into a GAT forum and (i'm paraphrasing) a bunch of whiners for the most part.
I remember first logging into the forum under a previous handle, and having long drawn out thread debates about this and that, and I think that in part - some of what Digidante said is true - I don't see the quality of debates that once graced this forum.
However, I don't think that's the fault of the players on the forum - but more a reflection of two things:
1) Everything that can be said - HAS been said. Y'all know the history - not much has changed in 2 years in terms of the philosphy of "What should a Smuggler be" within SWG so why do we need to debate everything again?
2) The game mechanics have dumbed down since SWG started, so a lot of the debates that occurred in the past couldn't occur now because they're no longer relevant.
SO - with that said, with nothing new to talk about should the Smuggler forum simply rehash the same topics over and over again and slowly die out - or should we have fun with our Smuggler buddies and ride out the storm of neglect from the Devs? I don't think turning into a GAT at this point is the worse thing in the world because HEY - what else are we going to do here? Kudos to Veela for inspiring the Smugglers here to troll other boards, to the Dancers and Armorsmiths who've visited - you've reminded some of us that we're not in this alone and it's appreciated.
To Digi and the old schoolers - come on back - we miss ya!
