Thread: Do you guys buy in your equipment or make it yourself?

I used to buy in my equipment. Clamps, knives, WUKs & AUKs. But I've been away for about a month and all the shops that I used to go to on my server are empty. I've checked out a tonne of shops portraying to sell smuggler gear and they are empty too.
I know that it's not really smuggler like to advertise that you are selling tools for a illegal trade on an open market but I didn't want to spend the skill points needed for novice armour and weapon smith.
So if anyone knows any good smuggler supply shops on Chimeara then shout up.

On Chimaera: On Corellia in the City of Crystal there is a pretty good shop I use for pretty cheap clamps. I don't have the waypoint for you nor can I remember the name of the house, but I'll try to give directions.
After exiting the shuttle you should see the Cantina across the way, a banking terminal to your right, and a row of houses to your left. Go left. The town is mostly French, so if you can read good for you. Anyway one of the houses along that row has a couple of NPC vendors and maybe 2 terminal vendors. Your target is one of the terminals. Until I can make them, this is my clamp supplier. Good luck.

Make everything myself (bar weapon and armour upgrade kits). I get everything needed at dirt cheap prices from my PA. Guess I'm lucky that way.

it depends, i only have 1 factory that I usually use for weapons and components, but if it's not in use and I'm around, I can run it for clamps or knives, but I use to buy em if I see a vendor with cool (99%) ones.

I make my own Molecular Clamps and Precision Laser Knives. I buy AUKs and WUKs from whatever vendors carry them.

I just achieved Slicing IV, so I'll be making my own molecular clamps. I make all my items, but my chosen template is a Master Smuggler and Master Weaponsmith. Now that I have Slicing IV, I'm going to start focusing my business towards making weapons and selling them, with an option to have it sliced.
I took Novice Armorsmith simply for the AUK. I'll be debating on whether or not to drop that in the future, but for right now it suits my purposes.

I buy all of my tools. I don't do a whole lot of slicing and just find it more convienent. Also keeps me from needing a factory or any crafting tools for that matter. It is getting harder to find them though. The end of the hologrind will mean a lot of things that used to be made in huge numbers won't be needed so much anymore. Been thinking about buying a factory as a result but its not quite time yet.

I picked up enough crafting XP making Knives, FANS and Laser Knives during the slicing grind to get to Novice Armorsmith and it din't take much more to get to Novice Weapon Smith. Got an equipment factory for about 50K and have made some $ making and selling Smugglers supplies while keeping some about half of the stuff for myself. I'm getting really sick running around keeping all of my mining and chemical facilities going, soi'm probably going to get enough to make another run and then start buying after that runs out. Hopefully by then, I will be a Master Smuggler/Master Pistoleer and will be able to survive on those skills.

I make my own tools. All of them. 
The AS & the WS in my guild usually make me schematics, from the resources I gather. Then I use make them myself in my own factory. If you're not in a guild, I'd suggest getting in good with a local AS and/or WS to get the kits or schematics, perhaps in exchange for slicing their goods for them.

If you're not in a guild, I'd suggest getting in good with a local AS and/or WS to get the kits or schematics, perhaps in exchange for slicing their goods for them.If you are going Smuggler fulltime, I highly highly highly recommend your own equipment factory, and your own food & chem factory for spices. A fusion gen for power & nukes for muon, and a few small harvs to cover the basics. If you don't have artisan, you can always get wp's from friends or guildies for nukes, gemstone, copper, fruit, and water (muon, pixie, clamps, knives) as well as chemicals for AUK's & WUK's if you go that route.
