Thread: Player Bounties? Has there been something official that I've missed?

Seems to be a lot of buzz about player bounties lately. Is this our standard rumor mill, or have I missed a post somewhere?
I do a fair amount of slicing for our guild armorsmith. If there are bounties for slicing, this could be a serious pain. I got a shop and a guild to run. I don't think I have enough time to deal with being "hunted", on top of that, as fun as that may be.

Any "official" word?

Haven't seen anything official in the BH forums. (As a BH, new bounties are always of interest.) From scanning through GreenMarine's posts, it looks like there was a fair bit of conversation about being caught with sliced goods raising visibility a la Jedi, but that seems to have backed down a bit. My impression was that smugglers might make it onto the BH terminals by gaining visibiilty for aborting smuggler missions or being caught skimming off the top. Didn't see anything about increased visibility for the act of slicing itself, and master smugglers are unlikely to be caught with contraband under current rules....

Relax. There have been no statements suggesting that you gain visibility from slicing. There have been statements from GreenMarine that suggest that weapons can be sliced two ways. One is a normal slice. The other way is an upper level slice that would gain visibility.

You will still be able to do regular slices for your guild with no hastle. Now if you are proposing that you want to do upper level slices all day long with no penalty I'll have to severely disagree with you there. If your guild wants all upper level slicers and you are unable to be killed just one measly time for it every once in a blue moon I suggest you either hire other slicers to help with the work or stop your complaining.

Not trying to be mean, but there is a law. You as a smuggler break the law. Deciding that punishments aren't an option isn't an option.

If you want something done about it I suggest that you lobby to have PvE consequences (which will take up your time too.. not to be inconvenient in any kinda way).

Nah, that's fine. As long as my current slicing dosn't get shafted I'm cool.

I might even dig on the improved slicing for risk.

It's just when I loose the ability to do something I can do already, is when I get testy. That sounds kinda cool actually.

You wouldn't be losing an ability either way. You'd just finally have consequences for performing an illegal action so much that people notice. I don't know that slicing would be something that increased visibility, should this sort of thing be implemented, but it would be ok if it did. Slicing is illegal, after all.

This would also bump slicing prices somewhat. We don't mind being hunted men, but we definately want to be well paid for whatever gets those hunters after us.

I am still in favor of all slicing to be actionable. There needs to be a checks and balances for slicing and without it all being illegal there really is no negative to it. What you get a smaller slice? That's not a big whoopteedo! People have good weapons and they can add power-ups, why should you get an average slice also and be free to roam around with it? Yes armor doesn't have power ups, other then shield generators but with the combat rebalance coming up armor going to get the whiffle bat taken to it and good so slicing will actually become important again and so should the risk of such armor. The way SOE is looking at doing it they are just **edit** footie around the issue rather then actually taking a strong stand to make the game better verse being too easy.

I support server merging of some sort for the betterment and longevity of the game and it's player community!
