Thread: Good and bad slicing customers...

First, I had a guy who asked if I could slice a couple weapons. I said sure, and told him I charge 5k/slice and to pay in the trade window after the slice. So we opened the trade window, and he dropped a gaffi stick, stun baton, and two curved swords in. So much for a "couple." Oh well, no matter. More money for me. Anyway, I slice them for him, and got rather crappy slices. Two 19% damage, a 16% damage, and a 27% speed. Oh well, that's luck for you. I told him the results and the total, and we completed the trade back (and he actually paid in the window!)
As he walked away, he muttered "20k for two 19% slices? That's crazy."
Next guy about 2 minutes later asked me if I could slice a gun for him. I told him the same thing as the other guy (5k/slice, pay in the trade window after the slice). We opened the trade window, and after multiple accidental closes (apparently he was running some sort of macro), we finally get it traded... with 5000 in the window before the slice. I'm not too much of a stickler, so I go ahead and slice it. 17% speed. Right after I sliced it, before I told him the result, he said "come on, damage!" I broke the bad news to him, and he said "Oh well."
I said "Sorry you didn't get what you wanted."
And to my surprise, he responded with "That's alright. I know it's random. It's not your fault."
I normally end up getting blamed for bad slices. It's nice when someone acknowledges that it's just plain bad luck.

MY worst would be when i was sitting in the cantina get mind heals and buffed and some random players send me a tell for a weapon slice. At this stage I had just hit master and was only really slcing for guildies and friends who I didnt charge.
Naturally I forgot to charge this guy and he walked away with a 22% damage slice. I turned to my dancing friends and said "remind me to charge people next time" haha.
Anyway 10 mins later I get a tell from the same guy asking if I can slice his LLC, so I say "sure but its 5k this time" to which he replies "forget about it then"............ Talk about greedy lol.
Best one would be another random tell asking me to slice his armour ( armour is spelt with a u in english so can the americans stop trying to tell me otherwise LOL) to which I replied " sure I charge 25k for a full suit of armour" to which he tips me 25k and opens a trade window and passes me over 4 peices of wookiee armour which is like half the amount im expecting but he tells me to keep the money when his end relust is close to 80% base resists on all peices.

Yeah. I've forgotten to charge before, and they're often surprised when I want money the next time.
(And yes, I know and accept the extra u's in english spellings, as long as you accept that I'm not misspelling it without them. I still spell gray grey half the time, though.)

Yeah. I've posted a story or two in that one. This story wasn't really funny or odd or anything, just a random comment on some of the customers I've had. I didn't think it really needed to go in there.

I sliced an ackly power hammer for a guy a few days back,got him a 28% speed slice which he was rather nice to me about until he accidentaly sent me the tell he obviously meant for his mate moaning about it!
I always say theres no such thing as a bad slice be it 12% damage or 13% speed,weapons still better than it was when you bought it

i had a guy who was complaining about getting a 19% speed slice on a t21 once, i told him to shut the f*ck up and have a look at my 2 million acklay hammer 250 - 700 5.3 speed. that seemed to shut him up fast

I found most of my coustomers are pretty good, although I still have the know-it-alls who swear I can pick the slices and that quality matters in terms of tools.
I've also found a fun way to deal with bad coustomers (or at least my guild finds it funny). If I slicefor someone and that person refuses payment (whetherits because the slice isn't "good enough" or they think I charge too much), I keep the weapon and put them on the "Impound Wall" in my house. So far I have a 2-handed Cleaver, E-11, Rep Blaster, DL44 (metal), stun baton and a Composite helmet there.If the person gets back with me on the money, they get their stuff back, if not I either keep it asa trophy or offer/sell it to a guild member who may have use of it.

I'm going to have to insist on people paying either in advance with a bank tip or in the trade window on return of their items, I guess. The last couple of days, I've had someone walk away while I was waiting on their bank tip... I know, it's my fault, I'm too trusting...

Oh, when people want to bank tip, they bank tip before I accept the trade, or they don't get their stuff back.
Giving stuff back before you get paid is just asking people not to pay.

Had a great one just a few minutes ago. Started out as a bad customer, turned into a great customer.
I"m in the buff line and this guy I know asks me to slice his stuff. Alright I say. He hands across a backpack of ubese armor. Great I think, this is gonna be a pain. At the same time I get tells from two other guys to do their stuff. One has two suits of comp, the other 4 weapons. I get my buff and start doing my slicing on the ubese.
Anyway, the whole time he's telling me about the guild he's been starting and how they could really use a Master smuggler in it, trying to convince me to join. I'm slightly intrigued, until the point comes to trade his armor back and he keeps forgetting to accept the trade. So i finally say in spatial that his stuff is ready.
Finally we get to the trade and I don't see any money come across. I was just about to tell him to pay up, when a Red Force crystal shows up in the window? I'm like, holy crap. He says it's a gift. We accept the trade and then he STILL bank tips me the credits. THey weren't even very good slices, mostly Enc, but what the heck. TOtally made my day. I now have to seriously consider his offer of joining his Guild.

Niice.. I met my guild leader through slicing his stuff, and ended up joining because he was cool. I'm glad I did, too.
