i know im not that far in smuggling but my favorite pistol is a FWG5 thats been sliced only about 207 damage but not bad to start out with and it has decent speed 2.3.

Im a Master TK/Pistoleer/Smuggler.

Once I got the dirty fighting line all ever use when holding a pistol is low blow, last ditch. If I wasnt a TKM I woudl also use the Pistoleer KD. Theres no reason to use any other special till Pistoleer is revamped, unless you want to use Fan Shot for its AOE.

As far as pistols, I always carry a scout blaster, DX2, FWG, Repub Blaster and Geo on me with min/max dmg powerups. This lets me fight ANY creature and gives me a wide aresenal to use in PVP.

smuggler/pikeman here (and a few defense lines) if I use pistols (doesn't happen alot), I have a damage sliced very fast krayt scout blaster, 0.9 speed 235 damage no powerup of anykind, no double slice, just fast tissues and lovely WS

(not mentionning the damage slice wich could have been better)

I'm am curious as to what pistols other Master Smugglers and possibly Master Pistoleers use when in PvE and PvP combat and what attacks they favour. I think it could help some of the newer Smugglers get a foot up rather quickly.
