Personally, I refuse to sell less than 1k at a shot. If I'm overt and they ask for 100, they just get 100.

As for pricing, base it on what they get. People are stupid. It's a simple truth. People are dumb. The less math they have to do the less pissed off they'll be. It's a lot easier to understand "Ok, you want 1k faction. At 100 credits per point that's 100k credits." than it is to try to explain conversion rates and all that.

Just remember that people are dumb and the simpler you make things the easier it is. In fact, just ask how much faction they want and spit back a total price. Don't say anything else. Just the total. People will be happy with that.

Micromanagers won't, but they're not really people.

As a side note, ask why they want that much faction. If they wanna buy a base, offer to buy it for 'em. Saves the conversion cost, and you get a 25% discount! And you can charge 'em the same for it and them, being dumb, will never be the wiser. More profit for you and less hassle for them means everybody wins!

Especially the smuggler. And that's what's important.

ok i guess where im confused is ... if someone wanted 1k of faction and i charge them 100k .. for that 100k i get 1250FP when i transfer the 1k to them its going to charge me 1180 i think my math is right ... so it seem im losing out ? im sorry for being a noob im just trying to get this straight and am a lil confused.

Your math is wrong on that. You still make out on it. If the amount you transfered was *greater* than the amount you got for the price you would lose. In this case, it's not. So you do profit, just not much.

I'm sure you can see the reason most smugglers charge more than 100 cpu

Okay, allow mea shot athelping.

To begin with, the average selling for rebels is 100-110 cred per point

and/or the average selling price for imperials is 110-120 cred per point.

Thatshould influence this conversation a little.

Now, in the example of your 100k to 1000fp, you are absolutely right, you will make no profit. You financially are breaking even. However, the business principles assume you are in this for the long haul, and take the extra 73fp (or 198fp if you are rebel)into inventory. This means little to a person only selling once, and as such so does most faction selling.

Returning now to the average sale prices now, realize that you would make 0-10k cred profit as reb with a straight up trade or 10k-20k cred as an imp (again, no concern given to your inventory of fp).

Now the math is as such: (as colonel you delegate 1000fp at the cost of 1177fp or 1 : 1.177)

As a reb you buy 1375fp for 100k, delegated it converts to 1168,meaning per point of delegateblefp you spent 86 cred.

100k=1375fp1375fp/1.177=1168.224fp100k/1168fp=85.616

As an imp you buy 1250fp for 100k, delegated it converts to 1062, meaning per point of delegatable fp you spent 94 cred.

100k=1250fp 1250fp/1.177=1062.022fp100k/1062fp=94.162

However, if you are in it for the long haul, (using the more realistic 100-110 cred/fp or 110-120 cred/fp) you will see a total gain from the sale of either 14-24 cred (as reb) or 16-26 cred (as imp).

Edited because, i can do math this late... though, it's the typo's that get me.

But, I'm glad I could help. If you ever have any other questions, just shout.
