That's why they have NPC vendors. In those cases, it's not a vending machine, but a person.
Now what would be cool is something where you can share a merchant's vendors, but your stuff shows up only if you know the proper code word. Then the vendor would hit the button behind the counter, and show off the "good stuff." Like in Men in Black.

That's funny and true! My conscience just didn't allow me to sell spice on one of my main floors of my house/cantina. So I put him in the basement. The one with crates stacked up, and guns all over the walls and the gaming table with only one chair. Oh yeah, and he's got a boar wolf standing right next to him.
And one more thing.... He's still not sold anything. Location Location Location.
Weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, chefs, tailors, droid engineers, architects, shipwrights, rangers, smugglers, musicians, and bio-engineers all craft items, and none of them get vendors to sell their items unless they spend the required skill points to get the vendors.

/agree
I considered this for about 4 seconds, before I thought, hey, smuggling is illegal..
Another use for our slicing could be to make these vendors, invisible to scans for a time, making them black market type stuff..
Just a thought.
