Thread: The Who Cares Poll
aw, crud. I was hoping for the chance to vote "I don't care"......
I will anyway. ![]()
I think that some of them do. I've dealt with some good CSRs and some horrible CSRs. I always get the feeling that alot of them are annoyed that they must provide help. (Hey folks - That's your JOB!)
I also believe that some of the Devs care, but it seems that most of the time they are short-sighted lazy when it comes to fixing bugs or adding content or changing the game for the better. I cannot even count the number of suggestion posts I've seen on these forums that if implemented, would breathe new life into a game that sometimes borders on stale at best.
On top of all of that, the Devs seem to be willing to nerf just about anything as long as enough people whine about it. Instead of figuring out how to fix the problem, they take the easy way out and nerf it into oblivion. (Feign Death anyone?)
But for the most part, I feel that they have good intentions. I just don't feel that enough of them actually take enoughtime to interact with the players via the forums or in game or whatnot. Too many players have the "It's us against them" mentality and it's been brought on by the HMFICs distancing themselves from the players.
Sure the Fanfests and the HoC chats are great, but really these are tools used to filter the player population down to a smaller scale so that complaints and comments are at a minimum. Why not randomly pop in on players and ask them what they think about things? Let's say there's a group doing a quest together. Perhaps you could ask them in-game how the quest is going.....are there any bugs......does it feel star-warsy, etc. Or try initiating a Q&A session in-game at one of the NPC cities.
Sure there could be problems with those suggestions (i.e. Richard Craniums who decide to spam the place and cause everyone to lag out, etc), but why let that stop you? It should be the Devs going out of their way to interract with the players, and not the other way around. Just my humble opinion.
Bollocks, i'm goin' for a walk.....

I worked, as a csr agent, last summer, for the largest supplier of digital television in the uk (sky). I can tell you that csrs dont give a crap. I for one did not. In the beginning I tried to do my job well because I know how I feel when I get nowhere with complaints/problems. I hear you say, 'But it's their job'. True, but your not gonna get much help from someone who gets moaned at and threatened for a pissy minimum wage. I used to get people who threatened me as though it was my company. I always used to love it when customers demanded to speak to rupert murdoch, who owns the company, to cancel. Big whoopy te doo! I used to pretend the line was breaking up because I was driving through a tunnel. Then hang up. Or transfer him to one of my friends. I knew a guy who transferred a customer to an external premium sex hotline regularly. Customer service is only as good as the companys product. If the product is perfect then there is no need for csr.FACT. By the way this thread is soooo going to magically vanish.
here when things like that happen, the customer can sue... /shrug
