Question for all the Master Smugglers. There is some confusion that if you have a rifle with max damage of say 1150 and you try to slice it with an 8% Damage slice that the max damage will stayrightat 1150,because youaretoo close to the 1184 max. Can someone who has actually tried to 8% Damage slice an 1100ish max damage rifle, please confirm that after the slice you hit 1184 max? This is really important because I'm going to have some rifles made with really low SAC in hopes that I can get a 8% Damage slicetomax out the damage at 1184. Thanks in advance for the help.

There have been some bugs reported on the subject of reaching max damage with sliced weapons (browsethe slicer issue threads for more info)but I can report that my proton rifle managed to slice to 1111 damage.

As far as I can tell, all loot/quest stuff slices fine. Its crafted that hit these slicing caps.

Nope. I crafted a T-21 with 1095 max dmg and sliced it to 1182. But I also crafted an E-11 Mark II and sliced it to only 1046 up from 1028....craft cap on the weapon is 1063. So who the heck knows.

Yeah you actually reach the max of 1150 and can even get a negative slice. Anything in the 11xx range is near perfect. Slice at your our risk.

I'd say he's a bit behind the times and needs to read the NEW slicing.
