Thread: Given a little time this CU sure grown on me.

Ok, I was concerned about the CU, alot. But I was gonna stick it out anyway, I just love me MS/MSW/Pistoleer/Reb Pilot toon, and was not gonna give up.
I must say that I sure am having fun with it, the armor, the combat, the....well...it's just fun to be able to log on and jump into combat right away. No buff lines taking away my game time.
I had a blast yesterday evening chasing and being chased by the Imp Stormies in Coronet...what a blast.

although i must admit i was one of the many crying about an EQ clone, i'm happy to be disapointed. had the best hunting trip i've had in months last night. yay CU

I feel the same way. I had to make a minimum trip. 15 minutes into town, go to buffline... twiddle my fingers then go to the dance buff bot and hope that it worked lol. By that time, I usually ended up getting distracted. lol It works better overall for me though I hate having to make the baby steps into combat again.. You can't have everything though.

I concur.
One of my latest surprises was logging in to find that I could just go fight right off the bat. Dying in a dungeon feels ALOT better after learning that I wouldn't have to get buffed ALL OVER AGAIN!!!
I don't really miss doc buff lines at all.

The CU has returned my love of this game. I had been bored with SWG for a couple of months but now I can't wait to get off work and log on. The buff lines were a big part of why I was bored. Too much time waiting and not enough actual playing. I love the specials we get as smugglers. I don't like the new icons but if that's my biggest complaint I can live with it.

All I can say is that when the CU was on Test Center I wasn't exactly thrilled with it, although I wasn't one of the ones crying "I'm gonna quit if this goes live" either. There are a few things that still bug me, for instance the DE-10, DX-2 and Republic Blaster all firing red instead of blue or green respectively, some of the sound effects andthelight showeffects, etc...Before the CU the game felt more and more like a chore: logon, chat with some people, check harvestors, run around town. The last few nights have really been exciting though,a two person Rancor hunt on Dathomir that was actually dangerousinstead of so easy it wasn't interesting -even the suicidal Corvette run I did with some friends was fun, even though we were all killed in one shot most of the time.
I don't mind the new icons, though I do understand why some people dislike them. Very glad that Doctor buffs are gone and I can fight without worrying about sitting in line. I think everyone that is quitting because of the CU is being pretty childish and I'd be willing to bet they haven't given it a fair chance... while I'm at it, I love these posts where people are saying "I cancelled 5, (6 or even a7 I saw earlier)accounts tonight over the CU", anyone that hasthat manyaccounts needs seriousprofessional help.

I am having fun now. I dont have to go and pay someone 10 or 15k to make me where I am able to fight.
