Something that came to mind. If you have a template that has two professions that cert for the same armor type, you usually get mitigation bonuses as you move up in levels. My question is do these stack, or does it go by the highest value.
an example
10% assault armor mitigation for BH and 15% for Commando (BH/Commando template). Does this mean you get 25% total or is it just the highest value from both?

it goes by the highest value.
no armor really has any hinderance above 40%, which is why you'll notice that's the highest % of mitigation for any hinderance.
i was contemplating the redundancy of Master Pistoleer, Master Smuggler, and thinking of dropping some Pistoleer, when i realized that Smuggler does not give full mitigation (40%) for Movement hinderance.
so having Master Pistoleer or at least the full 4th line will give you 40% mitigation against Movement.

I wonder if that's a bug, actually, Smuggler not having the full 40%...
I notice on the post-CU profession Calculator, smugglers don't get the 40%, but they get a 60% rate of fire mitigation...

Not a bug, the mitigation corresponds to the hindrance, recon armor has 60/40/20 hindrance while battle has 40/40/40 and assault 20/40/60, and profs certed for recon get 60/40/20 mitigation etc. If you have master combat it will always (for unsliced armor) mitigate all the hindrance. Only time it matters is if you try to use a suit heavy suit before you are master.

Hm. I'm master smuggler, and I still get a hindrance when using a ranged weapon now and then, even though I'm wearing Recon(Rebel Marine)...I'll have to bug it, perhaps.

Maybe you are talking about that icon with a gun on it. It's movment hindrance just because you are holding a ranged weapon. That has nothing to do with armor.
It's also possible to get small hindrance (2-3%) from armor at master if you slice the armor, the hindrance goes up with the protection. Just examine the piece and it should say how much hindrance it give you after mitigation.
