Smuggler is really fun to play now. Our skills are underhanded and cool. I am afraid that we will get nerfed because jedi are upset.
Today I dueled a jedi, he was down to 2/3 health and I pulled our special move and incapped him and got to walk away. He flipped out and started cursing me and saying I was a newb, then got mad because I didnt want a rematch ( i was overt at the time). I logoff and head over to jedi forums and see that he and other have their anti special move posts demanding we get nerfed.
What the h.... I may be incorrect but didnt the jedi have a whole batch of special patches and upgrades. This whole community seems to cater to the GD jedi and it is really making me mad. What about those of us who want to play that rougish outlaw, who sometimes wins by barely an inch? I am not one of the BH exploiters ( MS, MP, 0040 bh), so why should my fun be ended just because luke wannabe is mad he lost a duel?
People just see a number, they do not see the tactics in our moves. Our move in group pvp is just like us saying goodbye. If we have more than one attacker, our health action and mind are so low that its probobly over. The move is our one act of defiance in a world against the smuggler and should be kept as is.
My compromise would be to make it a master skill, that way BH exploiters really have to consider if its worth the whole tree, while we get to sometimes walk away from a bad situation

Just keep a different title up and shhhh! Why should they be privy to what knocked them for a loop?
I had the pleasure of using a couple of our moves on a CH that had 2 pets. He sic'ed his pets on me first..BAD MOVE! /target pet1 concussion shot, /target pet2 concusion shot, /target CH, Knockdown, followed by a volley of shots that completely pwned him while I ran out of his reach. Then I just fan shotted his pets to death.
But that "move" you speak of...has saved my ass on a couple good duels, and I missed a couple times, and I was lying on my back.
Yeah, people don't understand what that shot means. It's a CHANCE at winning. One miss or not enough damage done and it's good night...ahh, the ground feels nice.
As for sicking pets on a Smuggler...umm, we're crowd control at it's best. With Pistoleer and that Pistol tree with BH...yeah. But what was that about, something about MS/MP/BH 0040 being wrong? I'm aimin' for that myself BECAUSE it's such a nice mix and gives plenty of bang and more moves for the buck. Not to mention more armor choices and a really nice title of Desperado, heh.
can any of you guys help me work crowd control? I am a little new and just learning the new skills that work. PRE Cu tkm and pistoleer were my workhorses, I kept smuggler because I thought it was the coolest prof. But now im switching and learning and loving the new usefulness and would love pointers.

Its quite simple really. You control the battle, by rooting anyone that you dont want...attacking you. Just target, and Concussion shot em. then work the target you wanna kill. I always root the weakest and try to slaughter the strongest first, by the time the strongest guy is dead...the weak guys attack you but they are too much to worry about, and most can be taken out with a few well placed shots.
I picked up a flame thrower, and it has a cone effect. I get into a position that will allow me to Root everything I want to with one shot. Then I just target the strongest target, take out my 522 DPS DL44XT, and kill him.....then work the others....
MS/BH 4414 want to know. (choosed that more for the specials and content possibility than to hunt down Jedi, altough I will surely do it once in a while.)
Mmm ok ok, I AM grumpy, just got up, coffee time.... lol
But yeah, what make Last Ditch ballanced is the insane cost, and great risk of ending up dead for our trouble. I love it, it really feel now like the "last ditch" attempt to save our hide it is supposed to be.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again:
JEDI AND BOUNTY HUNTERS HAVE GOTTEN SMUGGLERS SCREWED ENOUGH IN THE PAST. LEAVE THE SMUGGLERS ALONE.
