Thread: shock absorbers?
Pray to the smuggler gods, as those are the rarest slice comp of them all... at least in my opinion they are.

I looted one in a magseal container at the Lord Nyax POI last night.
Where? I thought they were a dream I had once.
Get it when you can, it's scarce rather than rare (IMHO) because it's used for the armour break slice, which is one of the most popular ones for PvP.
It's also a problem with armour vs weapon components, as most people will want 1-3 weapons sliced, and the minimum armour suit is 3 pieces, more commonly 5 or 7 pieces.
If you find a non mission source I'd keep it low key.
It does drop of BH marks, somewhere between lvl 40 and 70. If they are dropping fine toolkits and trandy interframes that's the level I *think*.
So hang out where people grind BH (or run your misisons from there, since for me the only way I can slice for a reasonable figure is to pick up some of the components myself) and let level 40-70 BH's know how much you'll pay for them, and other parts.
Twice...I had 1 right after the smuggler change went in from a converted tool (out maybe a hundred or so). I put it in a bag with the rest of my slice stuff and offered it up to my alts vendor. After about a week or so I decide to load this alt and mess around with my vendors a bit since he'd just made master Merchant. Well beingthe dumb Ithorian he is, he deleted the vendor without buying the offers first. /BAH
Fast forward to BH missions..........I looted a locked container and sliced it..low and behold out came the absorber. It's probably my lost prized possession.
Seriously tho, I've done many BH missions and have yet to loot one of these let alone any lower end slice loots. I've been told yuo could get these from lower level missions (lowest I can get is 69) but have had no success. My toon is level 76 and still gets high end slice gear. /BAH again
oh so MBHs doing non pc missions can get the slice drops - nice to know as my other character is a MBH
i found 9 crates of AUK's by chance on global vendor search for 2500 each
i have gotten 3 shock absorberers from two crates

Cherish them. From my experience, shock absorbant paddings only convert from AUK's and not WUK's. WUK's do have a slight chance to turn up an ICB, but ICB's are common now with the MBH NPC missions. I did a vendor search for Shock absorbant paddings the other day on bria, and there was less than half a page of them for sale in the entire galaxy. Of those, about 1/2 were just being used for storage on a vendor being priced at 999,999,999. The other half of the page turned out to be shock trooper armor. I got lucky and found on listed on the bazaar auction for 20k (he was only asking 65k). Turned out he wanted a slice done, so I ended up doing the slice and paying only 50k for it. The gun he wanted the slice on already had a T1 damage slice on it... he wanted speed so I ended up doing a T3 speed slice. He was all set to hand me a delicate trigger assemby for the slice too, but since I couldn't do a full speed on an already sliced gun I was nice and didn't take it from him.
