You forgot winning heavily modified starships on the sabacc table off your buddies and being scruffy looking in general

... Deserves a little more respect!

We're not supposed to craft spice & buff equipment.

We're supposed to smuggle them through Imperial blockades.

Run from the law! Lie, cheat, steal! Be hunted for bounty!

Hide out in asteroid fields, slip in under the radar and confound

ourpersuers!

I do not for a moment begrudge any other profession their

updates and content... but come on SOE... this could be a

truly fun profession to play butinstead, we languish.

Please, I beg of you, fix the smuggler profession and

prove to us that our pleads and wishes are not falling

upon deaf ears.

If Han Solo was an SWG toon, I think he'd be a Pistoleer/Smuggler... Of course, the only reason he'd be a Smuggler is to have the title over his head, but I digress...

Slicing should belong to a "Computer Engineer" profession. This person should be the technology equivalent to a BE, making items to be added into other crafted items to make them more effective. Slicing is a side skill for them.

Spices shouldn't be crafted at all, they should be smuggled.

Smuggling (if it ever happens) should be done by a Smuggler. A Smuggler should not have a combat role at all (at least through Smuggler profession skills). A Smuggler should have no prereqs. Make Smuggling a profession unto itself, much like Politician. Make it damn hard to develop in, and make it very quest and/or smuggling-operation based. Since prereqs for a Smuggler can be very arbitrary (Han was a combat-oriented smuggler, Jabba was a business-oriented smuggler), just dump them all together and make it a unique element to the game.

Here's an idea... A "Smuggler" expansion. Buy the expansion and you get access to the Smuggler profession and all the Smuggler content. Heck, I've waited so long for a revamp that won't happen, I might as well pay for it now...

I agree partly. However, if you makeSmuggler a "special" profession we'll have 100% smugglers out there. I think it's in the best interest of everyone to revamp the whole game, making Profession and Combat skills completely separate.

You can be a Bounty Hunter, but that doesn't make you good in combat.

You can be a Smuggler, but it doesn't mean you can defend yourself.

You can be a Weaponsmith with TKA, but also fight evenly in battle with a Bounty Hunter with Carbineer.

The player would pick one box of profession (gangster, Imperial Officer, Rebel Commander, Weaponsmith, Entertainer, Doctor, Smuggler, Bartender, etc.) and complement it with your combat skills (Pistols, Carbines, Swords, Rifles, etc.).

The only exception is Jedi. Once you go Jedi, you can't choose any other profession or combat skill.

I've outlined all of my ideas in the link called "the game that could have been".

Who is Han Solo? I don't remember him from Episodes 1-3.

Only kidding of course.
