Yup, they already are. And the problem is - now you can't skip the obvious troll threads that almost always got * or ** ratings. And there's no way to 'judge' a poster by his star rating either.
I don't see what was wrong with the star system since it was quite obvious when people were abusing it, which could have been solved by giving less stars to give away daily or per log-in on unique IP, but they chose to turn the forums into your typical MMORPG board full of mindless posts where each and every troll gets an equal opportunity to voice his/her 'valid concerns'...

i think alot of the trolls where alt accounts anyway. If you 1 star to much your own rating went down

I know I made attempts to keep my post informative and thoughtful knowing that if I just spammed and disagreed I might lower my score to much. All that work and knowing that my post count could have been higher 
Its all for the best anyways.. on the kettemoor galaxy forum we had at least 1 or 2 resident 1 star ninjas that were getting to the point where they would 1star everything.

Only ever got 1 star ninja-d on the trade forums, and even then someone came by and five starred me for balance

I got a lot of 1 stars, only one time. That was for speaking in favor of keeping the snappy movement that everyone and their brother was whining about getting sick and throwing up... For some reason that seemed to be a bit of an exaggeration.

...maybe this is an unmentioned part of the smuggler revamp the devs tossed us early, the Star Contraband Initiative .... come on out all you Masters, we'll need your +95% scan evasion!
