I'm going to have to take up squad leader now as I don't know what I'll do with myself when I find I have a proffession that actualy works.
I predict that alot of people will come flooding into the smuggler proffesion pretending that they have been a smuggler form day 1. I haven't been a smuggler from day one but since I got the game in december 2003I got novice smuggler in January 2004 and never dropped back down below novice.
I am serious about the squad leader, not on kenney don't be silly
When the CURB hits I'll go Squad Leader, Carbiner. Why? Because I love punishment, why else would I stick it out with Smuggler for so long
If the smuggler forums get flooded with l337 dudes when our revamps hits. Just remember which of us are the true smugglers. The ones that stuck with a borked proffession for so long and always rallied after getting beaten down
/bowrespectfully to the true smugglers who always believe we ve something better.

why not go smuggler/SL/ranger?
perhaps with a few carbine skills to add
then wear a shirt with a skull on it, and call yerself: "The punished"

Yeah, the number of "long time" Smugglers should blossom. I guess it's something we'll have to deal with, not that I mind much anyway.
Don't forget though, SL is a combat based profession so it should get addressed during the CURB (before us). I think Ranger would be the way to go until we see their revamp.

I agree as well...
Soon the bandwagon will be overflowing with longtime Smugglers.
But we all know who the real "old farts" are...

with the revamp could bring more smugglers........ does depend on how many peps are left in SWG (havent jumped ship) and how many grinding their way to Jedi.........
Reading the plans for the revamp I am looking forward to it, I know it could mean more Smugglers around............

I have the image of Leonard Nimoy from the monorail Simpsons episode, at the end where he leaves;
"My work here is done."
"But you didn't do anything..."
"Oh, didn't I?....." *beams out*
Anyway Ender, once a Smuggler, always a Smuggler, You ain't going anywhere
. As for the health of the community, as long as the old timers stick around to 'educate' the newer members and don't go mental themselves, I think we're in good stead

Well there may be more Smugglers about after it, but will they be Masters and not just flavour of the month dabblers?
I hope that being a Master will finally bring real benefits to those that have stuck with it this long, or who plan to come back and stick with it.
I hope that the most involved, immersive and best Smuggler missions will involve a level of skill available to a Master only.
I hope that the best spices will only be available from these missions, meaning that only Masters can access them.
We already have heard that the best customisation will only be available to a Master.
It looks like there's a possibility that those who love the profession and are willing to dedicate the points and time to being a Master will get a great deal more gameplay from it... as well as a great deal more creds

Yeah!
And it is healthy for our numbers to grow...it means more voices. I do think it will be funny to see the "long time" smugglers come out of the woodwork. We all know who's been here and who hasn't...and if others don't know, I'm sure the more vocal of us will be sure to educate them!!

Some of us were even mental BEFORE we took up this game.

True EnderUK true, however two facts:
1.- Even if the are now "old" smugglers they have the right to show ideas and prolly some of them will be great ones. As long as they are not 1337 I don't really care much.
2.- We can always check how many post do they have on the smuggler comunity and since when they start to post.. :-). As far as I am concern i have the "Made Master today" post under my name hehehe.

You know the really sad thing? I've spent a good deal of time in game, only have one main character really, got novice smuggler not too far after launch, can't give you an exact time, and I've never let it go. Yet I still am not, and have never been a master, save for using a froggie on TC. Always RPed the smuggler portion, got slicing 4 and spice 4, just never bothered to shoot enough crap to get my pistol xp sucking boxes filled. Does that make me one of the noobs, one of the old farts, or just an idiot?
