Thread: Can someone please explain why...
To me things would make more sense to just turn panic shot into the daze and leave concussion as the root. I find that in many cases the root would be the more desirable effect to have, then just use the daze when the situation calls for it.
As has been stated in many prior posts, mezz by itself will allow movement but nothing else. mezz + root means no movement, no attack, no nothing.
Before you decide that this is the worst thing to befall the world since the Black Death, you should read the other posts. There you can find others who have given up before actually trying the changes as well as more stable personalities who are already devising strategies for using the new attacks effectively.
People who are rooted can still heal and shoot you full of holes if you're in range.
People who are dazed and rooted can't, and we get the added bonus that they can't follow us around waiting for the effect to wear off.
Basically, it's a move that lets you set up your next move at your leisure.
I'd still like to have a little root that didn't break on damage for PvE mobs... but I can always dabble in some Pistoleer for that.
When Concussion Shot was just a root, it made combat just a little too easy, and people got lazy I think. Now we have to actually use tactics like we used to pre-CU.
I don't see a problem with that.

hehehe no worries, the sky isn't falling yet.
Maybe I was just suggesting that it would be a decent idea to have the two effects sepperated so that if we wanted both, we used both and if we only wanted part of the effect, we would use the relevant part.

Well I don't quite see it that way. With the change to CS, I'm sure that it will just change the focus of PvE a bit. Instead of being able to "lock down" melee or creature types, we're now going to dominate NPC's or "ranged spitters".
