Roflao!!! Lol!!!That thread was BEFORE they announced you would need uber incredibly rare loot that so far only a few people have gotten on TC to slice!!!
A few people on TC converts to a couple hundred on live servers. Once the loot hunters get wind of what the parts are worth, the trade forums will be getting flooded with the parts.

EXACTLY WHY WE MUST PRICE THEM AS IF THEY WERE LOOTED!!! If we price them just like they were converted, we ALL lose money... Anyways, after the trade forums get flooded, eventualy they will all be used up, and people will have to actualy *gasp* loot them?
I used to get pissed at AS's that would take their armor, bring it to me to slice for like 5K a piece (and whine about it), then turn around and tack on an extra 100K or more to their selling price because they were sliced. They made an absolute fortune off of my work.
The only way I can see to somewhat control the crafters charging extremely outrageous prices for our work would be to make it so sliced items couldn't be sold on vendors or the Bazaar. That way people would have to come to us for slicing, and crafters couldn'tjack up the prices just because the stuff is sliced.
Because you know that if we charged an AS 100K for a good slice, he'd turn around and mark it up a million or two.
Good thing that, as a Smuggler, I can buy unsliced stuff and do it myself, but it does make me feel bad for folks who don't walk around with millions in their pockets.
I honestly don't think we'll have that much vendor business.
1) It'll be really expensive.
2) It'll be hard to find a smuggler who wants to sit there making three slices on each piece of armor
3) Not everyone will want the same slice setup on their armor. Some will want deflection so their armor lasts longer, some will want hardening so they last longer, etc. Too many choices for an AS to try and pick a one-size-fits-all-or-most.
In the old system with random results, people were paying to not have to take that chance. They were buying armor that already had the 30% enc slice rather than hoping for it. Now, they know what they'll get every time. Why buy pre-sliced armor when you can get exactly what you want from a smuggler without the risk of a bad slice?
I think vendor business (for armour)will most likely be a set of non-component slices, as of current TC build this gives:
Customisation 85% (so no more slices can be done, needs Master Smuggler to reach)
Armor effectiveness reduces from 40% condition (not 50%)
20% chance that 50% of the decay on the armor will not happen each hit
1% chance that 50% of the damage will be absorbed each hit
25% reduction in the effect of armor break
