Thread: Pricing Guide:

Well, since no one is posting ideas or ranges for pricing, I said,"F" it! And posted my ideas here. They are based on the "Component Tier" which is not based on either the tier of the slice or the skill tier, but rather where they fit into the order of slices. Here are the different "Component Tiers"

Tier 1. SimpleToolkit

Tier 2. Finely Crafted Toolkit

Tier 3. Illegal Core Booster/ Shock Absorbant Padding/ Trandoshan Interframe

Tier 4. Delicate Trigger Assembly/ Reactive Microplating/ Mandolorian Interframe

Now below I have listed what I beleive should be fair for pricing of different tiers of components (NOT slicing tiers)

Tier 1. 100k credits (I must see how rare these are to loot first, but I put 100k assuming after the conversion there will be a ton of these left over, enough to last a while)

Tier 2. 500k credits

Tier 3. 1 Million credits

Tier 4. 2 Million credits

Now just add in your flat slicing rate, and you should be good to go!

P.S. I put these up here in the assumption that we DONT change prices for converted loot, but assume them to be looted and price them accordingly (hence don't start selling mandolorian interframes for 2k! ) And besides, all the converted stuff will be used up quickly, so eventualy there will be little left! Please add comments and correct me where I should be corrected, and help me tweak these prices, as I have not been on TC and I don't know the loot rates, nor do I often go looting.

A few people on TC converts to a couple hundred on live servers. Once the loot hunters get wind of what the parts are worth, the trade forums will be getting flooded with the parts.

EXACTLY WHY WE MUST PRICE THEM AS IF THEY WERE LOOTED!!! If we price them just like they were converted, we ALL lose money... Anyways, after the trade forums get flooded, eventualy they will all be used up, and people will have to actualy *gasp* loot them?

Those resemble the prices I was thinking of for slicing. My base prices are a little lower, but I add in a multiplier for different levels of cusomization -- for example, if a slice ends up over 50% customization, then it doubles. Over 75% triples. Remember, weapons will be sliced repeatedly.

Joken.... man you need to relax. Every time I see a post from you, you're more p!ssed off than the last time. You need to roll with it or seriously consider another profession. Smuggler is changing and you need to change your perspective with it or you're gonna have a melt-down.

I used to get pissed at AS's that would take their armor, bring it to me to slice for like 5K a piece (and whine about it), then turn around and tack on an extra 100K or more to their selling price because they were sliced. They made an absolute fortune off of my work.

The only way I can see to somewhat control the crafters charging extremely outrageous prices for our work would be to make it so sliced items couldn't be sold on vendors or the Bazaar. That way people would have to come to us for slicing, and crafters couldn'tjack up the prices just because the stuff is sliced.

Because you know that if we charged an AS 100K for a good slice, he'd turn around and mark it up a million or two.

Good thing that, as a Smuggler, I can buy unsliced stuff and do it myself, but it does make me feel bad for folks who don't walk around with millions in their pockets.

I honestly don't think we'll have that much vendor business.

1) It'll be really expensive.

2) It'll be hard to find a smuggler who wants to sit there making three slices on each piece of armor

3) Not everyone will want the same slice setup on their armor. Some will want deflection so their armor lasts longer, some will want hardening so they last longer, etc. Too many choices for an AS to try and pick a one-size-fits-all-or-most.

In the old system with random results, people were paying to not have to take that chance. They were buying armor that already had the 30% enc slice rather than hoping for it. Now, they know what they'll get every time. Why buy pre-sliced armor when you can get exactly what you want from a smuggler without the risk of a bad slice?

I think the vendor business will still be there. Armor and weapons will have the most "popular" slices on them. And it will still sell, because not everyone likes to wait for a Smuggler they trust to get online. Sales probably won't be as brisk as they used to be, but there will still be a market for it.

I think vendor business (for armour)will most likely be a set of non-component slices, as of current TC build this gives:

Customisation 85% (so no more slices can be done, needs Master Smuggler to reach)

Armor effectiveness reduces from 40% condition (not 50%)

20% chance that 50% of the decay on the armor will not happen each hit

1% chance that 50% of the damage will be absorbed each hit

25% reduction in the effect of armor break

Now that's not bad given no 'cost' but our time. People who do want one specific high level slice will be around, but for many I see that being the popular choice as it will be the cheapest (well, unless we get too greedy).

Vendor business for weapons will be more difficult to predict as if you do the non-component you get 2% damage, 2% speed but can't reach 12% speed (only 7% speed with the 2% damage).
