...or have any tips on how you use it?

I normally NEVER use it but now that our root is becoming a root/daze that breaks on damage- restraining shot might come in handy.

As I understand it. When you use Restraining Shot the target can only move within a certain area, right? How big is that area?

It just slows there speed down for a bit to a gentle jog rather than a sprint from my observations though i rarely use it so thats about all i can say it may come in handy after concussion shot gets fixed.

It seem to work like rifleman's leg shot snare, ex... it doesn't do enough to use it

HOTDOG! I don't think it tethers an enemy.

It is just a normal snare OR, in other words, if a Jedi is running at you after your Concussion Shot breaks, snare him/her and run the **** away, haha

This shot is a really good one for PvP, but not as effective in PvE. Not sure why, but a "snare" seems to slow PvE targets to equal speed, which makes escape almost impossible.

However, in PvP it really slows your target down to a SLOW CRAWL. Not sure of the PvE thing is a bug or not, but that is what I have noticed.

But I agree with the previous poster, it will become more relivent with the upcoming adjustment to Confusion Shot.

Although, is Retraining Shot also going to break on damage? Or are they talking about making is a "delay" shot?

If they make our snare (Restraining Shot)break on damage, I will be majorly pissed off.

I tested it, it don't seem to break on damage, it just doesn't seem to work as a snare, either

It works poorly as a snare compared to carbiners snare. I only used it when chainrooting in case I missed the root shot.

I'll be using Restraining ShotA LOT more after publish 19. My template will be CM4000/MS/M.Commando.

To me, being able to ACTUALLY heal is way more valuable than picking up a 15 second root from pistoleer.

You can get Kneecaping Shot to work if you have a few different Riflemen stack it on someone. 3 stacked will make anything crawl to you in PvE.

Yeah, or I can just pick up crip shot from carbs and have it do the same thing on my own

It reduces the target's speed for 20 seconds. A "snare" meaning makes 'em run slow... keeping them sword swingin' hippies at bay till you can root 'em again. It'll be nice for the span between roots once the timer is added in the upcoming publish.

As long as you don't have a commando w/ their area attacks you should be able to smack two rancors w/ roots and pull a third to your hunting party. Upon the roots completion (and hopefully the drop of the first rancor) you can snare the other two, and start a short kite smacking one who is not dazed, and the other who will be a friendly on looker.

Basically it's all about buying kite time for dazes, knockdowns, and hopefully to run down a few timers.
