Thread: Why are we being given two attacks that are almost exactly the same?

Panic shot - being turned into a mez.

Concussion shot - being turned into a root mez.

...what the heck? I LOVE concussion shot changed, but I think that the description of panic shot, being "Prevents the enemy from attacking for a short period of time" should be more like Rifleman's Starle shot...or Pistoleer's Disarming shot.

I just can't think of a situation where I would need two mezzes..

It appears some people are just too stupid to find one of those attacks on their toolbar, so the Devs gave them two.

What.. Panicshot and Lowblow being nearly identical wasn't already weirding you out??

In this case though, I can see where having two similar effects will be really handy. Particularly in situations of 3+ mobs where you need to Daze 2 or more. The cooldown on Concussion will likely be pretty long, so we'll needPanic to fill in the gaps. Having a short cooldown might be better, but it's a decent solution for an imperfect system.

I'm also worried about how root timers will affect Concussion shot. As of now, if you lay a Stopping Shot on a mob, you have to wait 45-60 seconds before a Concussion Shot will take hold (before that you get a "No Effect" flag). Conc will retain a Root element, so I'm concerned that it'll still conflict with Stopping Shot. Can anyone from test confirm this?
