I'm withholding my vote as such, but for one reason only. I want to know what the purpose of this change is and what the current system will be replaced with. The devs have yet to tell us what we can expect from the changes, except that they're "Really cool." If this is part of an overall design that actually works and IS cool, then I have no problem with incremental nerfs to get us there.

For the record, guys, I think this isn't directed at us specifically. This is about state changes. Look at the way things have been going. Bleeds have been hit. Now delays. Next up are probably knockdowns and dizzies, followed shortly thereafter by posture changes, blinds, etc. Pretty much every state changing special in the game will likely get hit eventually, and it's all towards some as yet undisclosed purpose. That's why I'm not signing yet. I want to know where we're going and what we can expect before I say "This sucks!" From what TH has said a number of times, this is the painful part of the combat revamp where they're essentially gutting the system in favor of a new one. What I want to know is what the new system will actually do, how it will differ, etc. The devs have yet to really wake up and learn that it's good to TELL PEOPLE what you have planned at least in general terms, or they simply don't care if we yell "It's another nerf, dammit!" They'd probably maintain a lot more goodwill by moving away from the CIA "You don't have a need to know" model and by moving towards a more communicative model. And I don't just mean communicative as in the standard "Oh it's gonna be so cool! Trust me!" response that we tend to get.

For all the forum revamps, correspondent programs, top 5, top 10, etc. these guys have yet to really figure out how to provide clear information to players on a regular basis. That's their chief downfall in terms of public relations, I think.

I haven't read the entire thread, but this caught my eye. I agree with you Solo, and vote the same way. On the flip side, though, waiting for an answer from the developers can be almost as bad as not saying anything and just accepting what they do. This is a tough one to call, but I would still rather know more before I jump on the bandwagon (so to speak).

No longer holding out hope, SWG will never be the game we fought so hard for, that we believed so much in. Farewell friends.

Given Panic's already limited useability (the wee little cone), the xp required to attain it, the uselessness of our elite partner (pistoleer) and the absolute lack of dev support in the smuggler profession, I'll /sign this.

Instead of a nerf, get rid ofPanic entirelyand give us something we can use.

I have played a smuggler since beta. I have waited, and waited, and waited, for someone to help this profession. The sad truth is I am begining to doubt that they really have interest in it. What really makes me mad is that I still pay SOE for the opportunity to play as a smuggler and have them continually nerf it. Oh well. The one thing that does make me VERY HAPPPY is that games like WoW and Lineage are about to make them wake and smell the spice.

As a master smuggler I would like to have panic shot remain as is. That said I believe that this is being done, like all the other nerfs because it is exploited. Simply put, the devs made a mistake by allowing the use of some of the specials from one tree and others from another, etc. This and all other *specials* like it should remain for those who would like to master in the profession. This means that the nerf should only apply to non masters. If you take the time and expend the points then specials should work a heck of alot better for you than the stand ins, wannabe *best PvP* player. This is just one man's opinion obviously but it is what I feel to be the main reason for nerfs of this nature and the greatest flaw in the game.
