Smuggler Archive
Thread: This is the saddest SWG day of my life...
Well, First off all of my friends save a few left when WOW came out, that is when the cantinas began to empty. Then the CU drove drove some more people away. So, it is unfair to sum it up to SOE and LA allowing Jedi into the game.

Craile, do you honestly think that Smuggler Mission Terminals are going to solve anything regarding the disintegration of player interactivity? Also, Jedi is an individual's choice, I agree...however, when it's a class that's better than the other professions, isn't there a natural inclination by casual and powergamers alike to BE that class, thus making Jedi the mark of success in this game?
This thread isn't just about Smugglers...it's about the decline of the game as a whole when SOE and LucasArts decided to have an "alpha" class and cater to them because they think that the entire game is going to consist of Jedi at some point (they already think the game revolves around them.)

The problem with Jedi is not only, thatthey are the sole alpha class in this game - which is bad enough - bad that you get another slot for free as long as your first character is a jedi. Honestly, even if you don´t really want to play a Jedi, it makes sense to grind one first and then build up your desired character with yourfree slot.
When I entered this game a couple of weeks pre-CU I had no intention of becoming a Jedi. All I wanted was to play a Smuggler, which is the epitome of Star Wars for me anyway (/worship Han Solo). I still refuse to make a travesty out of my beloved character by grinding Jedi, but I admit I want a second character slot.
Solution: I bought "The total disappointment" and currently grind on a Jedi before transferring my main toon to my hopefully-soon-unlocked 2nd slot - which will cost me another 30 bucks, but will safe me 15 $ per month in the future. Why am I doing this even though I don´t want to play a jedi? 1st, you can always turn your muppet into a crafter. 2nd, I´d like to reserve my option to change my mind later.
Result: Instead of playing with the character I like, I mindlessly grind another Jedi, thus adding up to the number of glowbat wielders and withdrawing a colorful character from the game at the same time. Its a bad solution to a bad situation.
Someone hug Veela.... ME FIRST!
