Yeah i agree with it now, it fits in with the whole concept of what the crime lord is.
I like the idea of that ranking system aswel, could be a nice feature to stop big syndicates whipping out the new syndicates repeatedly hehe and would let them evolve more.

I've loved this idea from it's inception as I casually watch certain profession boards, but it could never strike a cord with me as a player since I'm a MP/MP in game. With GM's recent assertion that they can play "floating" pre-reqs for Smuggler I have a humble suggestion Caylin. Allow a Master Politician a path to Crime Lord. Obviously my motives are alterior since I am this andas aCrime Boss for my own Criminal Syndicate I love this idea. The avenue I'm approaching this from is that the pre-reqs can be totally different and off the wall now from the past which will give additional paths to a profession.
Politican XP cannot be ground out in a few play sessions and this opens up the RP of a corrupted person in power. If the skill points are not rebalanced in Politician as they might be, this could be a substitute for x skill tree(s). I'm hoping x would equal the Smuggler skills since I don't have those skills but that would demean your profession, yet Crime Lords wouldn't do the smuggling themselves. They would be in most cases past their prime and have a network of people they've hired already in place, thus negating the need to have Smuggling skills but be involved in the business aspect as you've pointed out.
*shrugs* Food for thought Caylin......

Bah. Caylin, just tell'em it's NEVER a bad time for new ideas. Try again after JtL goes live. Perhaps they'll still want to do the Hutt Expansion next.

Caylin, the developers would be fools not to hire you!
Sadly, so much work would be involved in this profession that we definitely won't be seeing it until after JTL (if they even decide to do it).
Great write up

Seeing as how we know nothing at all of the proposed Hutt/Underworld faction, perhaps you could let me know what it does better than this?

I just don't like the idea of a player based faction, that's all.

*comes in and throws a bucket of cold water on everyone that fainted*
Geez people...get ahold of yourselves...
I would love to see this idea implemented. It would work right into my whole plan of becoming like Talon Karrde.
However, I'm resigned to the fact that this is just a pipe dream. It's too good to become a reality and the devs would never go for it.
