Thread: HoC SWG Chat log
There wasnt any info given by the DEVs that would make we want to participate in a HoC again. They should expect to come to this and give some new information to the players rather than vague answers to the same old questions.

That is the way HoC chats have been held in the past. It is nice to know that this game's producers are good at destroying things other than the Star Wars story.
I've asked before but I'll ask again, What is the purpose of having a chat if all of your answers are "we can't say now".
If you can't discuss a topic then don't chose that as the one up for discussion.
Also what was with every question that was answered "Is this a jedi only expansion?". I'm sure people were asking more than that, all you do is answer about 15 questions before you all say it is time to go. pick different questions.

I'm disappointed that the scope was limited to a topic to which they could not discuss beyond anything that has not been already released.
I'm not sure why this game has turned into a super-secret development project.

One has to wonder if they care. How many of the competing MMORPGs do they own ro develop. If you leave here they have a good chance to pick up your money over on one of their other products.

"That being said, without going into any specifics, there will be a few surprises in store"
"not all of the features are ready to be announced yet"
"is outside of the scope we can talk about at this time."
"No, there is no estimate right now."
"so stay tuned it will be announced soon."
"But you are all going to have to stay tuned for further details."
Do you guys realize what thin ice you're on with many players? I really have to wonder how close SWG is to closing down given the way SOE ticks off players left and right. This Expansion could well be make or break for this game, and unless you quit playing coy and tell us what we can expect, a lot of folks won't buy it. Playing "secret, secret" isn't cute or clever, it's annoying. You should have not held this chat until you could give us some solid info.
But one thing you did let slip despite claims that everyone will be able to enjoy the quests... crafters are out of luck. "Primarily combat" means CL1 not welcome... "higher percentage" of loot dropped as schematics means little.
If you want to get more of my money, you need to convince me I should give it to you.

Tiggs, how can these producers, in their right mind, watch the only endgame for non-Jedi, the Galactic Civil War, fall directly into Jedi clutches? Non-Jedi are forced out of their endgame while Jedi will have the new FRS, Mustafar, AND the GCW at the end of the day.
How in the HELL is that supposed to be a fun place for non-Jedi players.
I am really so disgusted at the REFUSAL to ensure a viable endgame for non-Jedi players, be that through not adding non-Jedi content, i.e. a smuggling system, or by refusing to address the Jedi domination of the GCW.
Many smugglers might not like you, Tiggs, but I know that you are a person doing a specific job, which involves not calling these horrible game-direction decisions. I know that I can count on you to relay to those in chargethat many non-Jedi out there are PISSED OFF about the very REAL situation of their endgames being given to Jedi players and the griefing we endure from Jedi players in the GCW.
I, like others before me, have cancelled my account until two things happen: the place of non-Jedi in the GCW is protected and smugglers ACTUALLY GET A SMUGGLING GIG.
Hold on a second, there is and "End Game"?!?
We've been waiting over two years now for the "Galactic Civil War" to be implemented. All we have now is a very poorly conceived scoreboard.
Im struggling to understand what the secrets are about because this is the only star wars MMO out there and people arnt asking for the devs to explain game mechanic's, all people want is to know what is happening and this dev chat avoided alot of questions which would have been helpful while answering the ones which i could answer.

crap chat, crap responses from the red names in this thread.
in my line of work i deal with PR people every fricken day. and i do have to say that we are being fed the same crap every PR person shovels out. "let's focus on the big happy shiny things and completely ignore all the bad stuf!!!! weee!!!! and if anyone is ten times brighter than me and sees through my crappy act i'll just ignore their valid and informed questions!! smiley!!!!! smiley!!!! weee!!!"
pathetic.

Nope it is all done for free.
So it is just being used as another marketing outlet for canned replies to predictable questions on narrow topics, then?
At least that's how I read all the, "We can't answer, but believe me, you can't wait!" replies. :/
Edit: What I was hoping that the HoC chats were were an opportunity to discuss and understand the nature and direction of the present and future of the game.

HoC chats are an opportunity to discuss the topic at hand. Last night's chat discussion was based upon the new expansion announcement and experience changes from last week.
