Thread: New Spice Schem found: Bubble Tank

Is this really that big a deal? I mean, what's the problem? Sure, it isn't anything terribly useful--though they do look neat, and I bet we could get a bit of cash off them--but they actually gave us something here. Obviously, a spice or something more clearly smuggler-related would have been preferable, but if it's a spice, they're just going to have to change it all over with the CU. So they'd be putting something in-game they'd have to completely alter in 1-6 months. That'd be stupid.
The only objection to this I can think of is it seems a little frivolous. But who gives a damn? This patch was about adding more loot, most or all of which is decorative, and that's what they gave us here. Right now these bubble tanks seem more amusing than useful, but I for one have an (admittedly small) amount of gratitude that they thought to give us something with this patch.

LOL, well I can think of one other rather important problem... It has absolutely nothing to do with smuggling!
Of course that DOES make it completely consistant with our profession I guess.

lol, you may be right. But does anyone know exactly what a bubble tank is? IS it a spacebong? Is it something that purifies spice? Or is it just a bowl for keeping Jabba's frogs fresh, and what with it involving Jabba, a lazy dev decided it was up our alley?
I just don't see what there is to get angry about. Anything seriously smugglerish is going to have to wait for the CU or our revamp, so the only things we're liable to see between now and then are fixes to existing problems or small, not-significant additions here and there. That's what this appears to be: flavor.
Either that or a bug.. but in any event, whatever. I really don't think it deserves all the uproar.

Let me give a "HELL YEAH" to the bubble tank....I've always wanted one of these.....they can be found in various places as furniture.

Hmmm, has anybody actually MADE one of these things? Then checked its Radial to see if it does anything salient to a Smuggler? Like act as a bodybong, like giving you HAM bonuses for feeding it juvie worrts, like numbing my awareness so I just...don't...care...any...more...

After 8 months of paying for masochistic drudgery, I found somewhere where nobody uses the word grind. Everything, and I mean everything works. Groups aren't a necessary evil, they're fun. Load times? What load times?

I haven't been the most prominent member of the Smuggling community, but I'm happy to say that I'm retiring with my Master Smuggler tag fully intact.

For me, the major problem i have with this addition is that it once again goes to show the Development team has absolutely no idea what being a smuggler is, nor does it show they have a clue how to rebuild this profession. With such a wealth of information coming from us, one would have hoped they had realized that a furniture piece, though cool looking as it may be, is not what smugglers want.
If this 'content' had gone over well, imagine what they might have intened to add when the mythical Smuggler Revamp comes to furition. Instead of "importing or exporting (goods)illegally, esp. without payment of customs duties" as almost everyone here believes we should be doing, wouldn't it be easier if we just crafted really odd, relatively useless items?
These Bubble Tanks seem very much on the line with a schematic Pistoleers could craft that would create a really awesome looking piece of bone armor. It's something to do that has nothing to do with the profession, doesn't help the profession, and seems to serve the purpose of allowing the Devs to say, "see, we gave you something. We don't JUST nerf you....oh, by the way, we're eliminating Feign Death."
Ok, feel free to tell me just how incoherent this rambling really was....sounded much better in my head, i must admit.

At the risk of getting flamed senseless...
I for one am grateful for this new loot. First off, for those off us interested in actually being more than just an uber-combat, cred hungry smuggler, the idea of being able to create our own spice labsin player buildings has a certain appeal...
Second, the fact that this is smuggler only loot means that we can for once theme stuff on our own terms - after all, does your local drug-dealer pop down to ikea and say 'Scuse me, I'd like some furnishings for my private drug lab...'
Is it so ludicrous that the devs have given items of themed furniture loot specifically to a profession?
I for one would like to see more of this - like different wanted posters, but craftable by BH's...a forge, craftable by a-smiths/weaponsmiths, the tanned hides craftable by rangers...
Not to aggro the archi's, but some of what we term 'furniture' is really a bit mis-named. Not all decorative items in the world are made by architects, surely...
Well done devs...don't listen to the moaners.
While it's true that this in no way makes up for delayed revamps, or the risk of loosing feign death, who ever said it was meant to?
So seriously guys - stop complaining when someone gives you something for nothing....

Milas, that would be great if the item actually had either a use or even a look of something used in crafting spice. It looks like a big fish bowl. A bong to some. It's a joke to me. I for one would rather see them put it in the Architect skill tree if it is of no use to us. It gives them something new. I don't want to see random things thrown at me because they don't want to spend th time to give us something meaningful. Just like I don't like ideas from people saying that weaponsmiths should be able to slice their own weapons, I will never condone giving the ability of one profession to another.
